Local pricing is down to $800ish USD... hope the trend continues so I can pick one up soon.

Interesting to hear the opinions specifically of those going from the S8 to the Note 8 as they are definitely very similar phones overall. Thanks and +Rep!

How much difference does the telephoto camera make? Can you share some comparison photos (main vs tele taken at the same position, both bright outdoor and dark indoor/night lighting)?

While camera samples are easy to find among reviews, all the main vs tele sample pairs I've found are resampled. Would love to see some untouched images.

I'm still really enjoying mine (coming from S7E). Mostly got it for the cam and bigger screen. the larger amount of ram is definitely helpful. This is my first Note and I am still enjoying the SPen. Pretty impressed with the accuracy and pressure sensitivity for drawing.

My "gifts" finally say they shipped. I am pretty sure I had my SD card and Gear VR for my S7E in a few weeks after getting the phone. This seems to be taking a while (SD card + wireless fast charger) and I pre-ordered the Note 8 and submitted my request for the gifts as soon as I could.

I have both the Note 5 and Note 7 and both phones are absolute gems (even though my 7 was sadly recalled so I can only use it on wifi now). I never thought I'd care much about the S-Pen which is still IMO a bit of a gimmick selling point of the Note series, but once I had it I found all kinds of neat uses for it (though I haven't exactly missed it since having to switch to the S7E after my Note 7 got recalled). The Note 8 looks to be the absolute best of the series thus far (which it should be of course) and that screen is simply astonishing to behold! I'm definitely jealous of you Note 8 owners. Just gotta pay off a bit more of my S7E before I can really look to getting my own (plus I expect there will soon be some interesting sales of this phone with Black Friday fast approaching).

Its great to hear how much you are still enjoying the phone after extended day-to-day usage! thumb.gif

Best Buy sent me an offer to pay off the last 70-something bucks of my iPhone 7 Plus (the ultimate phone I ended up with after the Note7 shenanigans).

That and the price that they are/were offering ($28.53/month = <$700) made it a no-brainer for me to go ahead and switch. The price and battery size were what made me apprehensive, but I have to say I'm really enjoying my experience. I haven't gotten to use the camera a whole lot in ideal scenarios, and I haven't played much more than a few puzzle games, but I'm getting a full-day of usage and SoT's of 5+ hours. EXTREMELY pleased I came back to the Note series again.

Well, my LG v20 got the boot loop of death once again, this will be the 3rd or 4th time, went to Best Buy last night and picked up a Note 8, for the discount they had on it, it was hard to pass up. Phone is simply gorgeous, not sure how I feel about how narrow it is but I'm sure i'll get used to it over time

It is very narrow, that was my only real concern, but once you've had it long enough, you realise it makes typing a hell of a lot easier than it would be if it was wider. Fits nicely in the hand. One-hand mode actually works too. Depending on the size of your hands of course. Mine are quite small, but I am a pianist so I'm used to stretching xD

I'm glad they brought the Note back, but my Note 4 (w/ official flip case) is still trucking. Surprisingly still works after taking a few dozen drops onto cement (a few into some puddles). I'm actually afraid to own a new phone again because then I'll have to worry about dropping it again.
