You also need to change Boot-->CSM(Compatibility Support Module) --> Boot from storage devices and Boot from PCI-E/PCI expansion devices to "UEFI driver first".

The best thing to do is remove the HyperX 16 card and then get your boot drive to work then add it back in later to prevent confusion.

I'm leaving the boot drive as always to the M.2 under the armor.

Now I'm trying to get another M.2, placed on the DIMM.2 to work.

EDIT: I tried all of the above, still not showing up.

This may be the issue. I think I have tried everything else, so this may be the issue (I sure hope so).

EDIT: By doing this, the M.2 I am currently using as my boot drive no longer shows up in BIOS as a boot option.

Hello,

In finished the R6E and 7920X installation but there's a problem, I can't enter the bios and i get this error code :

"post error - code A0"

I don't find anything in the user manual about error codes, do you know what it means?

I use a Samsung 950 Pro in DIM-M2 slot and a Titan Xp.

Thanks wink.gif

edit : forget about it, that was just my DP cable not plugged at the rear of my X34...biggrin.gif

Is it possible that you had it setup as an IRST RAID at one point? Because if you do and you're back to AHCI non RAID then you're not going to see that drive.

Remove everything else and have that drive that you want to use on the M.2 slot the only one on the system and find out what combination sees it then blank it out so it can be setup as a DIMM.2 AHCI. At that point you will want to setup that drive as an AHCI non RAID only since you can't have both AHCI and AHCI RAID mode at the same time. That 1TB drive has to be setup the same way as your boot drive. You can blank out this drive by starting to load windows while this is the only drive on the system and choose custom to nuke any partitions on it.

One thing to keep in mind here, there is two modes on AHCI. RAID mode and regular. RAID mode requires UEFI and regular requires Legacy boot. You can't have RAID mode drives at the same time as regular. There is no setting for it on a per drive per specific slot that I found. Also I have not checked if you plug in a drive on the onboard and DIMM.2 does it disable the other.

The setting for the DIMM.2 can either be CPU or PCH, I've tested that to work but mixing it with the AHCI boot drive may not work if you set it to CPU so make sure you have that set to PCH.

I'm willing to try almost anything at this point, but the drive in question is new and I put it on DIMM.2 yesterday for the first time ever. The boot drive is under the armor, and after having to redo my whole loop, I'd rather not have to take that drive out . . . but if it come down to it, I may. I'm going to run windows installer and see if that drive is even visible. It it is, then I'll nuke it. If it is not, then maybe the drive is bad?

/crossfingers

EDIT: Windows installer does not see it either . . . not sure what is the issue, unless the drive is bad, or the DIMM.2 isn't making contact. I placed an order for another Hyperx16. If it comes soonish, I can test the drive on that. I want to be able to return it on time if that is the case, but want to make sure.

Does anyone know if the M.2 slot under the armor is CPU or PCH? I do not see any documentation, and there is no setting in BIOS to change it from one to the other. I am guessing in is PCH.

@Raja@ASUS Can you shed any light on this?

Set it to PCH on the source so you don’t have to load a driver for it. On the BIOS pick none for that slot also.

Someone posted on the Asus forums that one of the DIMM.2 m.2 slots was damaged. His M.2 worked on one side of the card but not the other and he was able to see damage on the actual side that the m.2 didn't work. frown.gif

That sucks . . . so far I have not been able to get mine to work on either side, but have not noticed any damage.

What temps are you guys getting with the Monoblock on 7980XE or 7900X CPU? I have not installed mine but on my RealBench v2.43 test @4.4GHZ on a 7980XE 1.18v I was getting 97-98c
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Edit: I failed to add that I was referring to the VRM temp.
