Hi all,
I have a 2ndary rig w an Asus Sabertooth 990FX board and FX 8150 chip on it. It won't boot and won't output to video. I have swapped video cards and slots. Still nothing. I have unplugged RAM as well. The LED's on the mobo illuminate and boot device led stays lit. I have unplugged all drives. I have reset BIOS using the CLR CMOS jumper and have also popped out the battery.

Arrrgh! I don't know what to do. Maybe it's hosed, eh?

Hi!

You say the boot device led is lit up? According to my Sabertooth manual that means that your hard drive has a problem. It might have died on you.

Have you tried plugging the ssd into another sata port? You can set the boot disk in the bios. Or maybe the sata cable is bad.

What does it say in device manager?

Dunno. It is sounding like a dead board.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking.

I wish it would at least display BIOS, but it just cycles through the LED's and gets to the boot device LED and stays there.

I have googled a bit and have come up with varying and scattered reports. I think I am bailing on this motherboard for now.

You can't get into the bios at all? I had a hard drive fail and it still got that far. Usually with Sabertooth the sound goes out first, then the PCI slots or memory slots.

Well, you had a good run with it.

I for sure would've thought I would see BIOS even with all my drives sata cables unplugged from the mobo, but no, didn't get that far.
