Hello guys,

I have a friend, an ID/Architect, and he asked me to suggest a specs for Graphics rendering (3D Max, Autocad, Photoshop) PC with two monitor setup.
I need your expert opinion for this build and I read Ryzen is better for this purpose.
His budget is $2000.

Thanks.

More cores = fater rendering. (Dual Xeon motherboard?)

All that stuff is 2D (not 3D) so you don't need a whole lot lot GPU.
I run SolidWorks with a Nvidia GT 610 ($75 new)

He needs a Threadripper box. Simple as that.

X399 Taichi - $339
19250X Threadripper - $1000
16GB GSkill Flare X - $188
500GB 850 Evo SSD - $140
GTX 1050 Ti - $155
Rosewill Hive 650w PSU - $65
Total=$1887

So I got this far and realized "crap, he still needs a cooler and a case". Imo the only thing you should sacrifice is a 1920X instead of a 1950X, but in the case of a rendering box those 4 extra cores might be worth eating the $200.

The Rosewill Hive is not all that great of a PSU and you can get a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550 watt for only $70 on newegg so thats a better option

You dont need a 650 watt PSU for a system like that when the GPU is only a GTX 1050 Ti.
