Anybody know what could be the cause of a dc 3 pin fan that usually runs at full speed no problem, but occasional will run out of juice once a minute (slowing down to almost dead and sometimes even stopping), then kick back to life? This cycle repeats every minute or so. Its connected to fan header #3 on my gigabyte x399 aorus.
Bonnect the fan to 12 volts from the power supply. If it runs at a constant speed the problem is the motherboard fan control. If it still slows down and speeds up the problem is the fan.
