Just bought the same G640 a week ago. The pad was like 95% flat out of the box for me. Just used my hands to flat out the edges. For me, this was the quickest a pad has ever went flat.

Might just be mine then. :/

Zowie GSR Black --- Not Flat
Razer Goliathus Control Large --- Flat
Good list so far and accurate. thumb.gif

Also add DG (Dark Gray) version to Zowie GS-R (Original Dark Blue). Also discontinued and on my desk right now. biggrin.gif

Shame on the new black G-SR being stitched. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

I'm sure we'll find that those pads with edged stitching are going to be the most problematic and most unreliable pads to lay flat right out of box. Yet there is some sort of confusion in the market that people want 'sturdy' mouse pads and stitching keeps edges from fraying. Yet how fun is a bumpy pad that doesn't lay flat? Also edged stitching seems to lose grip of the desk top where it makes contact along the edges and some of those stitched pads have a tendency to move on you with vigorous movements gaming.

I hate going through a flattening ritual that can take a couple weeks before it relaxes flat and can actually use it.

Flat mouse pads for me right out of the box Artisan Otsu and Hein. Puretrack Talent (all black), both already on list.

Taito Control 2017 was a mess and took 2 weeks.

I've tried a new version of Taito as well but it was perfectly fine out of the box. I guess it varies.

This pic is after 48hrs of trying to flatten. 24 hrs on one side and another 24 hrs on the other with a lot of weight on top wasn't enough.

It's flat all around now but took slight massaging the tightly embroidered edged to straighten and I ended up leaving it alone for one week. It wasn't enough, so I turned it over and about a week later it was relaxed finally.

You can kind is see two of the sides were wavy along most of the pad in this Ariel comparison of old taito and new taito control. My old taito lasted 2 years without fraying, go figure. So stiching seems more problematic IMO.

Since others have complained it's safe to say taito control is not flat 'right out of the box'

My DM pad L is like 95% flat after a being out of the box for a little less than 24h. Sides still flair up a little.

Both of my old zowie pads refused to sit flat, even after being ironed, washed, underweight ect. PTF-X and a G-CM startale edition. Really sad about the last one frown.gif

Thanks for all the shares. I'll have to update everything at once this weekend. Debating if i make a separate part in op for community contributions (because every pad on front page was either used by me or had like 4+ reports of not flat with pictures.
