I've got another set of RAM ordered. However, I'm wondering whether running 12GB 1600mhz DDR3 in single channel is worth the extra 4GB, over 8GB dual channel?
Dual Channel is Way better for performance than any single channel setup. IF your just gaming or working with small projects Speed > Space, However if you are editing with huge file (raw footage for ex) the ram size would be more important so you don't crash while working on it.
Depends on your memory controller and what you're doing. Pretty sure that the 3770k will follow the graphs Pook posted pretty closely.
I suggest the best thing to do is try both ways and see if it makes a difference.
