I use the word hobby because it isnt a career. I am not using it as anything other than a placeholder in lieu of a more accurate description.

And you still are applying US taxation laws to The EU. If the sponsor is overseas, you are not liable for taxation on a product. If the sponsor is in the UK (builders residence) and doesnt specifically request advertising, you are not liable for tax. And all of this only applies if you are registered for VAT in the first place.
Your experience in giving sponsorships has nothing to do with the workings of the modding scene.

Im not defending any postion,I am a sponsored modder and have been for the last 8 years, you talk a good game but I am playing it.

Im done with this thread,I have builds to finish....

Although the fact I have been open about being a business person in the past should have clued you into the possibility I might have sponsored a few things. Plus the wife is an Accountant and deals with these sort of matters (tax) on the daily.....

Second, I made the qualifying statement about the United States, and other Countries. Why double down on what is mentioned?

As for the property itself; obviously if you are going to be returning the property you wouldn't personally be liable for the taxes, because it isn't yours. Why you lean back on that obvious fact to defend your position is beyond me.

In the situations where they do indeed leave those parts with the builder, the builder is very much liable for taxes. If that person "declares them to the tax man" or not is entirely up to them, but the legal burden is theirs. You can throw air quotes around the word "hobby" all you want, tax authorities don't give a rat's ass what you call it. If it is a goods or service with a declarable value, that value must be declared under law.

Again, people doing it or not is another story.

EDIT:

I just can't get over how you throw out "hobby", like it is some legal defense on tax matters.

"HOBBY!!!!! Can't tax me now!"

Like it is base in a game of Tag.

"Base!!!! Can't tag me now!"

but if the rig was for marketing, then it's not yours, That He should get paid for the work done, that is another story and not killing career which building rigs is not a career yet, and if the rig was damaged then the other parts owners should get a better lawsuit after alphacool, and not this guy

If I give you a brand new Tesla Model S, and then you lend it to me and I crash it, are you saying that since I gave it to you, that Tesla Model S has no financial value so all is ok if I do not repair or replace it for you?

For some reason I dont think EU tax lawyers are going to see it your way. Might have something to do with the objective of these art rigs being pure marketing, written implication or not.

not to make a joke or equate this to my lesser scenario, but this is the reason I don't lend out my lawnmower or tools. People generally do not respect other peoples things. Sorry your rig was ruined, allways makes me angry when people put a lot of time and energy into something only to have people make fun of or destroy it. I currently have a alpha-cool monsta 560mm the radiator was nice and works however I may consider future purchases differently.
I hate companies like this. If it makes any difference.. I won't be buying from them ever again.

This dude clearly hasnt read through the thread.
Your grasp of the subject is clearly minimal, your analogy with the Tesla is laughable and your comment about B NEGATIVE defending AC/AT is just plain wrong.
