Craig Ferrie, manager of MT. Mods from the UK, cries foul over a badly returned modded rig named "Gold Rush" after COMPUTEX 2017 held at Taipei, Taiwan. Gold Rush was created for one of Coolermaster's modding contests which features a pearl white and gold colour theme using hardware from brands including Coolermaster, ASUS ROG, Alphacool, Team Group and Cablemod. Gold Rush sports hardline loop liquid cooling, a custom-painted chassis, 24ct gold plated fittings, filigree, solid 24ct gold logo and others. After the said modding event, Gold Rush was sent to COMPUTEX 2017 for display. Craig broke his silence today about the entire incident after getting no help in return from Alphacool who's said to be responsible for shipping Gold Rush back from COMPUTEX. Gold Rush was returned in a very bad shape due to bad packaging and mishandling which Craig says Alphacool admitted. Not only was the packaging insufficient and improper to protect the entire modded desktop computer, Alphacool also 'forgot' to drain the coolant and shipped Gold Rush fully loaded.

Due to insufficient and improper packaging, the hardline custom-loop water cooling was catastrophically destroyed during shipping spilling coolant all over the case. This killed every electronic component inside Gold Rush along with scratches and physical damages on the custom-painted chassis.

There was an attempt to claim insurance from the courier which seems to have failed. The modder is still waiting for settlement with Alphacool over the damaged modded rig.

apparently Alphacool blocked all communication and has not responded in many weeks. They left him in the dark.

Seems weird.

You would think if Alphacool had an ounce of professionalism they would have attempted to fix the problem.

Maybe not even professionalism. Even if I were completely morally bankrupt I still would fix it, because I would be terrified of this - alienating myself from my niche customer base.

If everything is as cut and dry as depicted, are they actually that stupid? Just seems weird.

Is there some kind of lawsuit that can be had over this? That or some claim that can be made? o_O Surely there's something that can be done...?

Kind-of absurd that a company can't be held liable for destroying someone else's property if not.

they can be held responsible for it, especially if it ends up in a german courtroom. if it does they will most likely side with the guy with the destroyed pc. and award him damages, stress and possibly other compensation.

euro countries do not tend to take companies screwing people over very lightly from what ive seen in the past.

Scoundrels.

Incompetence and laziness of the highest degree, shame people like this are in these positions when there's so many more qualified people that have respect and passion.

Never even heard of this company, wouldnt be suprised if the cost of this blunder could do em in.

I certainly hope this guy wins. Inexcusable for a company to behave like that.

Perhaps too foolish to realize it won't go away, and that saving money now is not worth the long term, potentially crippling loss of sales from people who will stop buying and recommending their *cough overrated* products.

I'd be looking for a lawyer.

Yeah i didn't understand that either. Anyways if the guy was smart he'll have documented everything for evidence and will sue for property damage from their negligence. Of course it'd be nicer to settle outside of court which really a matter such as this should be.

Dunno, could've just been a miscommunication between the english and german sides of the company, particularly considering it's under two names as well...

Spoke to alphacool and again its now getting resolved hopefully. seems to be miss coms and gotten out of control once again. how ever i have high expectations this will end happy for all parties involved.

Best not to attack but to fix the underlying issues at had. Comm's some times goes wrong and simple calls and talking can fix issues.
