Hello everyone, i got question, i bought recently new mobo asus hero crosshair vi (did last update 1501 even 1601 today but still noting) with and ryzen R7 1700, and G.Skill Xflare 3200mhz ram memory (Link of memory: https://gskill.com/en/product/f4-3200c14d-16gfx) everything new, when i installed everything in bios its been only showing 8gb out of 16gb, when i went in tab to check its shows me 2 sticks of 8gb each, i tryed to reseat the rams, cpu and etc noting changed, i even tryed to boot system with each stick and it did only on 1,on other 1 its been showing some error code on my mobo, and system didn't want to boot at all, red light is constantly turned on, if i put both sticks its boot normally but its recognize only 8 gb, in windows at the performance tab its shows 8,1gb Hardware reserved, does any 1 know any solution or it could be? Or maybe that 1 stick of ram is not working at all. Another question is when i try to set my ram speed to 3200 it's says target speed 3200 but its still says 2400 current ram speed, any solution for that? Thanks

Sounds like a bad memory module. Contact G.Skill and see what they say. The tech support folks there are very knowledgeable and helpful. They'll give you a few things to try and will issue a RMA once they've exhausted all possible options.

Did you try the other ram slots with the working stick?

EDIT: Did you set your XMP profile in BIOS to 3200MHz? Like others have said, they say "out of the box" but there's still some tweaking you'll need to do in BIOS. I went through the same think with my mobo/ CPU/ memory combo.

In your BIOS's memory options you should see something like this...

At the top of this screen, you'll see Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.). Make sure you choose the profile that matches the speed of your RAM. Not all mobo BIOSs are the same, so I may be wrong as far as where it is in your BIOS.

This is how it looks in my bios on asus

there's no such X.M.P on asus bios that ai overclocking tuner basically got 5 or 6 profile and that's as x.m.p on gigabyte, i even set there to profile 1 and its automatically set 3200 with that producer latency and voltage, and on LN2 Its shown 3200 target speed but on the right of picture you can see actual speed and there its says 2400, the standard profile is matching my ram memory speed of 3200 with latency that g.skill gave 14 14 14 34. Does that have any thing with my 2nd module which not working ?

Thanks for advice i have contacted gskill they said its bad memory modul, and max i could reach withmy ram was 2880 mhz with those profiles which are in bios. Thanks again for helping in solving this kind of issue, hoping so that when i get new 2 sticks it will be better.

No worries, man. Thanks for updating. Good to know it was the memory and not the mobo. Hope they RMA quickly for you.
