theres a lot to choose from with such a limited set of wishes to be honest your best off going to somewhere like amazon and sticking in "144hz monitor 1ms"

you can find stuff that fits the 75>144Hz bracket from as little as this one at 24" all the way up to this

there are literally hundreds that can fit the description you put forwards, although some of them will likely require some hunting down to get into the budget ....

did you install the driver for the monitor from the aoc website and the latest set of radeon crimson drivers for the rx480?

its possible the monitor wont work with that graphics card since its compatible list for adaptive-synch stops in the r9 graphics cards according to the manual, maybe newer cards have a different standard (I don't know)

try using it over hdmi (apparently its possible since 2016 on some amd cards)

when I plugged in my Samsung monitor via the dp cable and switched it on for the first time my pc just declared that I had a freesync monitor and gave me the option in the crimson ui to switch it on

(something which I found annoying since I had to go and buy yet another dp cable as the monitor didn't come with one and my old one was from the older gfx card so was a mini dp to dp lead ....)

honestly your best bet is to ask aoc for help on that one

someone else might know though so chin up

if all else fails take it back to the shop and swap it for a different one, within the 14 day window most places will take it back
