I've been having issues with my PSU a lot recently, and here's why I think it's the PSU and not the GPU or any other component. The PSU will generally shut off during gaming say after 10-15 minutes however I'll turn up the AC and let it run for 10 minutes "will have the PSU off" and then turn the PC back on and will game just fine for hours (10+) also I noticed I had eco was on so the fan barely ever ran and the PSU itself was warm after a shut off.
Last year there was a power surge and let's say the power delivery was **** and no it wasn't plugged into a UPS, just say the most of 2016 I was pretty much dirt poor as I got laid off the previous year "still not at position that pays 250k/yr
" but I'm not broke or poor either. So that power surge probably took a number on the PSU as I did remember RMAing the GPU that November and things were fine literally up until June and then my PSU would just shut off and now it shuts off by just watching youtube... ***?! I also placed the PSU by my vent "it's on a platform it's not on the carpet" and blasting cold air "48F" solves the problem so there's something wrong with the PSU and I've heard horror stories with EVGA but mainly on their G2 lines of PSUs.
I'm looking at a 850 seasonic prime PSU, won't Saturday ship it unless it's reasonable as I can run the evga psu okay as long as it's basically freezing in the room "the PC does keep the room cozy tho" and could wait till Tuesday but now that's basically crashing by just Youtube or even Emulation going to say it's a PSU problem and nothing else...
