Every console has its quirks. Recall the three-legged controller on the N64 or, more recently, that weirdly placed eject button on the original PlayStation 4. Fans of the original Xbox will no doubt remember The Duke, the famously oversized controller that felt more like a small steering wheel.

How'd you like a new one?

Seamus Blackley, one of the designers of the original Xbox, has led the charge to recreate The Duke in all its glory for the Xbox One and Windows 10 machines. Together with peripherals manufacturer Hyperkin, he's finally done it.
Coming to XB1 and PC this holiday season. Neat.

This is most excellent.

Love and still own my original Duke controllers.

So I guess this will be wired USB (like the original but with a normal usb jack now) or all new-like and wireless?

Hope it feels the same, that's important stuff.

I modified an original one as a usb pc controller a long time ago. Would be nice to have one.. well.. just to have it.

Whoooo, about time it was brought back. The Controller S was a terrible creation that just wasn't comfortable at all even for short gaming sessions.

Glad to see maybe the most comfortable, durable controller ever comming back, I just hope they do it right.

Taped a usb cable on one and used it for several years on PC, but button mapping got tiresome.

EDIT: after watching the video, I see they did update the design with bumper buttons....This MAY be THE greatest THING EVAR!!!

They must have found a warehouse full of them they forgot about.

Not sure why anyone would be excited. I hated that thing the PS2 controller was so much better. It was only slightly better than the N64 controller which is probably the worst controller of all time.

If it's good quality I will have one, but I also bought an Elite controller this year so how much the Duke would get used is debatable.

If it has Impulse Triggers then that's a huge upgrade. If they could give it at least two paddles underneath that would be ideal (or I guess 6 would actually be best to allow full functionality without moving your thumbs).

How much was the original?

Due to the onscreen display alone, I think we're looking at near $100 for the controller. A wireless option would be lovely.

You could just find an old one and get a USB adapter.

The worst modern controller gets a comeback, and the only change is to make it dumber and more expensive by adding an unusable screen... yeah ok then.

While you may not like it, it has quite the cult following, if they do this right, it will do well.
