I have Witcher 3 but no 4k monitor. I only have 1440 ultra-wide. I'll be happy to try it with that though.

Doom was smooth, but it always is.

Firestrike extreme gave a 23xxx graphics score but was invalid due to "unknown problem". Time spy ran and gave a good score for first test then a "0" for second part and stopped. But I didn't try much to resolve this. Not even a reboot.

thanks for the update.

I don't think VSR works with crossfire, or at least is wasn't working before. I don't even see it in the options currently (unless i'm just missing it). I don't think it was even an option before. Maybe it's not compatible with freesync?

*edit* it says not supported either way. With crossfire on/off and freesync on/off.

Also, just realized it have to re-download the game. Should be a few minutes before I can try the game. Also I do have a 4K monitor that I gave my wife... but I don't feel like moving it from room to room and all that. Sorry... redface.gif

well, having problems.....
GOG showed it downloaded but wouldn't launch. i opened the folder and installed from the folder. It eventually launched, took sometime since I selected to check the files. Once it launched I went through the settings and disabled hairworks... worked for like 30 sec then froze. I alt-tabbed and I think it shut down. I rebooted, and now it has a "play now" button which when I click it just dithers and does nothing. i can't find the exe to launch the game again. So I'm going to try and re-download the game from my "game backup copy", however I am not enthusiastic that it'll work. If it doesn't work right off the back this time, I do think I'll crash and test more tomorrow or this weekend. Sorry....

For what it's worth, while it was working, it was smooth.

Thanks for the update on that.
In the meantime I'll share some very good advise about manually uninstall drivers that was posted by another user in another forum a while back. This has helped me get a fresh start to any new AMD driver. I found this while searching for something. I take no credit but it does work. As I am not keen on using DDU at this time.

FYI: don't make an compromises on the registry porition. Even if you see other ATI/AMD keys. They appear to be for 17.7.1 or whatever version MS keeps downloading.

GUIDE FOR WIN 10 + CRIMSON

Remove Drivers:

1. Access "Programs and Features" via "Control Panel"

2. Double Click “AMD Install Manager”

3. Use the "Express Uninstall" Option

4. Restart the PC when finished

Side note:
(For me I found that win10 always keeps installing AMD driver 17.7.1 )
So I have to uninstall that and reboot again.

Once I reboot again, I notice that I still have AMD drivers found under Display Adapters from Device Manager.
So I uninstall them and reboot. I still had them there after a 3rd reboot (this may not be the case for you). So I had to uninstall them again and reboot again.
After the 4th or so reboot this time I read MS Basic Display Adapter.
This is when I went to the next steps from the user who created these instructions:

Remove left over files/folders:

1. Access "Folder Options" from "Windows Control Panel"

2. Click the view tab and select “Show Hidden Files/ Folders And Drives" (Apply Settings)

3. Access Drive “C” (OS Location)

4. Delete the folder named “AMD” (Side Note: Don't delete this if you want to keep your previous copy just in case you need to revert back to this version of Crimson)

Remove left over registry entries:

1. Click start and type "Regedit", then press enter

2. Click “HKEY_CURRENT_USER” and extend the folder

3. Click “SOFTWARE” and extend the folder

4. Delete the "AMD" folder

5. Click “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” and extend the folder

6. Click “SOFTWARE” and extend the folder

7. Delete the "ATI Technologies" folders

8. Click “WOW6432Node” and extend the folder

9. Delete the "ATI Technologies" folders

10. Click “HKEY_USERS” and extend the folder

11. Click “S-1-5-21-545761268-2676804339-3983074714-1001" and extend the folder

12. Click "SOFTWARE" and extend the folder

13. Delete the "AMD" folder

14. Restart the PC

Now you install Crimson and Cream Crimson 17.9.2.

An RX Vega64 with registry hack for unrestricted power limit can draw more then 500W. So now using 2xVega64 you can draw as much as 1kwh - add an overclocked i9 or threadripper to the mix and you'll finally NEED that 1500W PSU. Leaving the power bill aside for the sake of argument, can you imagine staying in the same room with that PC in the summer without any AC?

So, got the Witcher 3 to work. The game won't launch from the GOG launcher, But found the exe and it's working. Some studdering, and usage isn't great. Same up and down varying from 30-90% on both GPUs.
