I don't play these games. Can somebody explain how this is any different from GTA3 spawning dozens of GTA clones. Most of PUBG seems like a natural extension/joining of existing game elements, so is the company really trying to protect anything more than their share of the market?

You haven't proven that it's not. See? I can do that too. Except - I have logic and historical data with other games it's been done with to back it up. You? You have zilch. Seriously - stop. It's not working out for you. It's literally like telling a flat-earth-believer "the earth is round" and all they can say is "no it's not". You provide no basis because you have no basis.

PUBG is the Overwatch of BR games, if that makes any sense. There is a lot of muck around whats going on, but I think that is the gist of it. This is not some small no budget individual releasing a crap mod of BR. Its a well funded publisher with hands in the industry who also has intimate knowledge of PUBG's very own game. Damn right market share plays a large role in this ordeal whether the VP say so or otherwise.

I don't play any online games. I can understand where some can see shenanigans from Epic via Unreal4, but I don't see anything that wouldn't have more or less happened regardless.

Also, PUBG has a much bigger focus on realism. It's a BR game from the ground up, not a DLC game mode within an engine made for something else entirely.

I don't want to be rude, but you're asking me to prove a negative. You're not very good at this debate thing. Or the logic thingn.

Now show me why streamers are responsible for PUBG's success.

It is. Same crappy netcode, with same laggy gun-fighting that looks like a slideshow no matter how good your rig is. Also chock full of hackers with esp and aimbots. Pass.

You've described every multiplayer game ever. But yeah, this one in particular is a bad game on top of the usual pitfalls.

Kind of sad and kind of true.
