I first noticed when it started throttling playing warframe (even at 39°), then I found out that actually, except for the throttle, with that game even my 1070 on my desktop doesn't work past 50% load.
So I tried FurMark but the 1050ti still doesn't go full load. Any idea?
Obviously is not on battery.
My first guess is that you're running it off the battery, but I see that you have it plugged in. Are you sure the power cable is functioning correctly? Some power cables have a super thin wire in the center that becomes bent. Sometimes the machine still gets power, but it's not 100% working properly. On Dell machines for example, you often get a message that says your power adapter in not compatible, all because of that little bent wire in the power cable.
Is the system set to maximum power savings even though it's plugged in? Just make sure it's set to maximum performance when plugged in. Whatever the issue is, it seems like the laptop is acting like it's on battery even though it's not.
I had the exact same issue with my Dell that had a 1060 in it. For me personally, what fixed it was reinstalling the drivers from scratch using DDU, and then manually setting the Power Limit in the Nvidia panel to "Prefer Maximum Performance Mode." It uses the battery a bit more even when you don't need it, but it fixed the 50% stuck issue I had. Nothing else fixed it for me.
Yeah that's GOT to be a driver issue. I can't imagine any other reason why this wouldn't be software related.
