hello guys, I'm new to PC building and upgrading and I bought a processor which is intel core 2 duo E7400, but it seems like my mother board doesn't support it, my board supports 1066mhz 65nm but the processor I bought is 1066mhz 45nm, I thought that as long as they are the same socket there'll be no problem but yes I guess its not that easy. so I'm wondering if there is a mod to fit this 45nm into my board which supports 65nm. thank you.

Depending on your board manufacturer it might be as simple as a bios upgrade, have you installed the latest bios for your board? and if so what do the release notes for that bios say regarding compatibility?
im using a dell OptiPlex 745 mini tower, and yes I downloaded the latest bios. so it seems that theres nothing more I can do about this matter? thank you for your replies.
