[Mozilla Blog] Firefox Quantum Beta announced - Page 21

News to those who are still using FF is that Adguard has been rodgering me from the start. It was the one responsible in blocking all of my MassDrop transactions, Google searches, Banking log-ins as well as a whole host of Flebay purchases.

Here I thought it was Firefox's problem when it was 100% down to this current version of Adguard which I had paid for earlier this year doh.gif .

Once I removed it, everything came back to me as normal. Teaches me for spending money on garbage that interferes with my connection to the outside world.

Looks like someone else had the issue and posted about it on the forum. Maybe try the instructions in this thread: https://forum.adguard.com/index.php?threads/adguard-causes-firefox-55-0-3-64-bit-error-sec_error_unknown_issuer.25429/

YES had to re-install the nasty devil because the Company paid for it, hence it has to run when ever we use the internet.

Everything has returned BUT not MassDrop. There is something evil going on there and my Internet Explorer isn't affected but Firefox v56 still can't see it.

Can live without MassDrop running in Firefox, as long as I have IE to do the purchases and checking, that is what's important thumb.gif .

Never throw away IE when using PCs now, it still is vital even if the modern browsers fail to operate properly.

Still on 56.0, i removed classic theme restorer and it is much faster, i didn't know they had integrated theme to it, if you click Customize>Themes (at the bottom)>compact dark. I only use adblockplus and noscript but i hope developers will catch up to update their extension to be compatible when Firefox Quantum drop.

They work fine but your addon doesn't.

I still recommend Firefox 52 ESR.

Yet the much older IE is still going strong displaying all the websites with ease, yet not as fast as Google Chrome or Firefox but maybe due to their insistence upon going faster, they have indeed broken their own product?

May even possibly go back to version 52 which was the last one before this all went down the toilet thinking.gif .

Yes, I wholeheartedly recommend 52. Specifically, 52.4.0 ESR. The first time Firefox ESR will get the major code changes is with 59.0 ESR. The last version without any major code changes will be 52.8 ESR. That version will have all the security updates that are current with Firefox 60 as well.

My source of this information is here: https://github.com/Aris-t2/ClassicThemeRestorer/issues/299

Be careful though: your current profile might not work very well with 52 ESR now that you've been using 56. So [before installing Firefox 52 ESR], I recommend closing Firefox, verifying with Task Manager that all executables are no longer running, and then after you've verified that, copy the contents of this folder to a safe place: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[randomstring].default (or go to about:support and click "Open Folder" on the line that says "Profile Folder"). At least that way you won't be screwed out of your established profile.

I think version 52.4.0 ESR has all security updates current with version 56.

As soon as Lastpass is functional on this build I'm definitely considering switching full-time. Quickly visiting a few sites on it and it feels extremely snappy, but no Lastpass means I absolutely won't be able to replace chrome just yet. Hopefully it gains support soon. thumb.gif

They finally released it public... it is really fast. I just ditched Chrome after downloading it.
