Yeah everyone that already have at least GTX 1070 or RX 56, 1070Ti simply not worth to upgrade, upgrade to 1080Ti or Volta, you will get far better boost in performances.

All this card can do is push down 1070 prices and make us want those cards more

I went from a 7950 to a 7990, but that was because it was on clearance for $670. I saved my 7950 for a friend's build later, but ended up selling it for $400 due to the original mining craze.

That's an odd situation though, and I totally agree.

That's less of an upgrade though, more like going single gpu to xfire. If you were one slot limited, makes perfect sense.

I went from a 695(7)0 to a 7970x2 (full chips) but sold it during the mining craze for $1080. But if I had a 980ti, you certainly wouldn't find me buying a 1080ti, as badass of a card as it is.

sold my RX480 last month so I am in the market for a replacement. Vega 56, 1070 OC or 1070Ti are on my short list. choice will be based on price I confess because even if I have a freesync monitor in the center of my rig, I play on 3 screen set-up so feature is useless there.

so yes I have to say a discounted 1070 would do for my needs, without shame

I’m praying to either get a 1070ti for the SRP for 429 or get a new 1070 for around 350 ASAP

Not sure about that, 1070 MSRP will remain the same from what I've heard..

yeah MSRP would practically remain the same, the inflated price though should get lower as demand shifts to 1070Ti.

Don't miners still prefer GDDR5 cards?

But yeah 1070 needs to be lowered, it's not that far from 1080 atm..

i don't think its the preference, more like they've no choice but to get the 1070 because RX500/1060 are too expensive, furthermore its cheap enough while providing high performance.
