I am thinking to buy 27" curved monitor and I was wondering is curved monitor a big change? I read that is good for eyes, less stress. How is for watching movies from 2 meter distance, will I see any negative effect? With my friends I usually play PES so we are not sitting on the centar of the monitor, will that be a big problem...

Having a curved monitor is really neat, easy on the eyes and definitely helps with immersion. Overall i would say it was a nice addon when i first got a curved monitor but i don't believe it is a deal breaker.

I would much more go for panel specs(contrast, bit depth, response time, etc) over a curve. But given the specs are there and it happens to have a curve as well i would consider it a plus. I wouldn't spend a whole lot extra for a curve but if there was only a $20-$40 difference i would opt for the curve.

I have a ROG PG348Q that is curved. It makes a big difference having those curved outer edges brought into your peripheral vision. It's probably more of a big deal on my 34" inch vs a 27" but you will get the same effect. Generally I think the curved screens are designed to suit our natural peripheral vision. I think you will be happy with curved and it also makes flat screens look boring.

I don't think the curve is significant enough to affect a straight line tbh, I can draw a perfect line in paint on my Asus PG348Q...

It seems that a lower number curvature equals more curve to the screen so drawing a straight line on the Samsung you've mentioned could be an issue but I don't really know for sure. If your unsure you may want to consider something else or try to have physical viewing of the monitor before deciding?

Also google screen curvature and search for images.

curved monitors only make sense on ultrawides (if you sit directly in front of them)
27" is too small of a monitor to benefit from a curved panel - especially if you will be looking at it from 2m away with your friend

curved is all about single user experience (where you sit dead center in front of the screen)

and yes, curvature does mess up photo/video editing since lines arent straight anymore but follow monitors curvature

dont bother

curved TVs failed for a reason and I hope curved monitors do as well soon (since they bring an unjustified price premium)

I wouldnt go with 27" 1080p monitors if you value picture quality (I have a 27" TN 1080p 144Hz monitor for over a year now and cant wait to replace it)

monitor is too big and there arent enough pixels - it makes the whole picture look pixelated (most obvious with desktop icons, text and in games with lots of foliage - its not smooth but jagged)
1080p is useful up to 25", 1440p between 25-30" and 4K for anything above 30"

dont limit yourself just to VA,, look at IPS monitors as well and avoid TN (poor viewing angles, especially bad if you plan on playing with your friend while sitting at a distance)
I would even avoid VA if all you do is play PES with your friends (this is somewhat mitigated by VA TVs since they have larger screen sizes, but on smaller monitors its easier to notice) - VA also has poor viewing angles (not as poor as TN, but close) which cause gamma shift (dark areas of the picture go from black to light grey when looking at the screen from an angle)
