October Projects of the Month

World Community Grid

Start: 68 - Goal: 67 - End: 66 |  Like SETI, it is a long haul to move up in WCG.  We moved up a few spots earlier this year, and now it's time to see if we can move up a bit more.  :thumb:

Cosmology@Home

Start: 25 - Goal: 23 - End: 25 |  We dropped one spot last month.  Let's get that back and maybe a few more. :D

SETI@home

Start: 119  - Goal: 114 - End: 116 |  We are steadily pushing our way closer to the top 100. :thumb:

Just crunch for Team OCN. PoTM is just a combined effort to increase team standings for a couple of different projects each month.

Just fired them all up. Lets see if we can achieve the goals again this month.

I'm steadily crunching away towards my 180 day badge... Just another 40 days or so to go ^_^

....I might even get my Bronze/14 day Help Stop TB badge sometime this month too.

@WhiteWulfe Help Stop TB was tough for me. I had to use Boinc Project Updater to spam the servers every 5 minutes just to get tasks. (and setting a backup project to a 0 resource share.)

I had enough tasks after 2-3 days to max the cpu out....and eventually it was going 24/7.

I might have to do it again soon though....you know for different colored stars and different badges which apparently aren't good enough anymore rolleyes.gif

Yeah, I've been running a mix of MIP/HST. I could run such a script, but for now I'm working on getting MIP to 180 days, then MCM to 365 days, and then after that probably FAH and FAH2 to 180 days because that seems to be my new goal for most of the WCG stuff, getting it to 180 days ^_^;;;;

Sure would be nice if they'd release more than like 3k WU's a day for it though!

I've been using BAM to manage my machines. For some reason, BAM keeps adding a project I know I didn't attach nor is it one of "My projects". I only have DENIS as my project. BTW, it appears DENIS will be down for a while again, until Jan or Feb according to the notice.

EDIT: Oh I am such a noob. I have two groups, Home and Home2. It was in the Home group, when I thought it was in the Home2 group, thus it kept adding the Liden Classic or whatever project which I could not find in Home2 that I thought it was it. I had two groups for when we do Pentathlon. Not sure why the Liden Classic project is on there, left over from a old POTM or something.

Hmm, I can't seem to get Process Lasso to limit vbox to n-1 CPU threads. Terrible lag when its using all 8. Windows tasks manager says there is no access. vboxheadless opens 3 executables and 2 of them will not change affinity. Windows 7.

Edit: Guess I'll just limit it with app config.
Code:
<app_config>
    <app_version>
                <app_name>camb_boinc2docker</app_name>
        <plan_class>vbox64_mt</plan_class>
        <avg_ncpus>1</avg_ncpus>
        </app_version>
</app_config>

That doesn't really work for me either.
