And I understand why. Macbooks generally provide a much better laptop experience than Windows 10. No constant updates, restarts and interrupts, and the trackpad on Mac's are simply in a whole other league than Windows laptops. The touchpad on my Lenovo T560 and T470s is terrible compared to my MacBook Pro 13. Downright terrible actually. I hate it. My Zenbook had same problem, altho it was slightly better.

Gestures simply works much better. Using multiple desktops on a Macbook Pro is painless and just works. Resolution scaling also works much better in OSX compared to any Windows version.

Can't really use Steam OS marketshare for much, most OSX users don't use Steam or has another PC for proper gaming.

i was talking about this guy's post.

edit: on a side note, the university i last visited had Win10 Education on their units.
if i remember right it was because their Education volume licensing is a lot more cheaper than grabbing a Pro OEM licensing.

I can only vouch for my own experience and a friends, but that last creator's update was the final straw, broke several of games, and it seems every update I have to run shutup as I come to find out that damn xbox dvr is enabled yet again and more crap is renabled. I just wanted to game, but no, im using windows 7 as I don't really have or need any dx12 games right now.

I see every Win 10 update as 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
The touch-focus is too big.

But at same time, Win 7 feels old and dated.

For media manipulation maybe. Still Lenovo making a bad touchpad isn't Microsoft's problem. For a normal user who are not into video or media editing a Macbook is pointless. Linux can fill the same void and give you equal levels of pain. Mind you I would love a Mac for my DAW PC, but for most uses you might as well use Linux.

Still you forget that Microsoft releases their OS for compatibility with almost everything. Apple releases an OS more like a console that only works with their hardware and its much easier to optimize the OS. Also Apple users are used to being imprisoned within OSX. Microsoft users aren't. its a bigger change than any version step up in Windows history.

I just migrated to win10. The only difference I see gamewise is afterburner works on most of my games. Dx12? Still waiting on mass adoption...gonna be awhile. As of right now the only thing win10 has going for it is the modern UI. You guys mentioning prior turned off settings turning back on is a little concerning. I will have to check on that later today.

microsoft configured it in the way that settings would be factory-resetted after each major updates.
it was supposed to be changed in some prior version but it seems like it got reverted.

I have tried a few different versions of LTSB, is this revision an evaluation version only?

it isn't even with major updates like the creators or anniversary updates. Every time there was an update, I had to go to my brothers in law's house, provide phone support for my friend's rig, and then run shutup10 and disable the DVR EVERY freaking update.

The creators update was the worst. Broke UI and games to the point and most people online just recommended "Reset this PC". Told myself, well if i'm going to do that, I might as well go back to windows 7 to reinstall everything.

And yes, windows 7 is starting to look dated, but I will never sacrifice function over form, not matter how "modern" windows 10's UI gets, I'm tired of going through the frustrations of having the damn OS just freakin work.

How can it be activated? When I had last read about LTSB it required special business licensing to keep it past the time period is that changed now?
