That's the thing, I need at least a photo ID for virtually every other major service (driving, opening a bank account, getting a valid US passport, etc)...except voting, in some states. Would be an excellent tool for cutting down on voter fraud.

Voter fraud that's so statistically insignificant it may as well not exist. it just reduces access to voting for no good reason.

Countries that require at least a photo ID to vote (Spain, France, Malta, Belgium, Mexico, to name a few), mail any documentation to voters. The 'access to voting' excuse doesn't have much weight...

I don't have a current photo ID, nor do I plan on getting one. Making such a thing a requirement to vote disenfranchises me.

Do you live in the US? This just boggles my mind since so many things require it, like driving. Not calling you a liar just generally interested in how that doesn't cause you issues.

If you really believe that, I have some ocean beach front property in Arizona I would like to sell you. I can give you a great deal.

Yeah, I live in the US. I let my drivers licence expire years ago because I rarely drove and haven't encountered any situations where a photo ID was absolutely mandatory...and it would probably take a proverbial gun to my head for me to sacrifice the amount of privacy required to obtain one.

LOL! What privacy?
