[Anand] Anandtech Coffee Lake review - Page 3

I really like the 8600k, it makes the 7700k absolutely irrelevant imho. If it can be found for 260 it is a good alternative to 6core ryzen. Rest of CL range seems meh.

Guru3D suggest 5.0 to 5.2 GHz OC for the 8700K
Quote:
Your reachable target for Coffee Lake is 5 GHz and 5.2 maybe even 5.3 GHz with a really good processor.

Both TPU and Guru3D have OCed their models to 5GHz or higher... The 8600K from TPU failed to go above 4.8GHz.

Anyone else see any reviews with OC numbers?

I would expect that with a bump in mesh and nice fast ram kit,7800X will be identical to 8700k. I would personally take the X299 part, pay a bit more but have better upgrade path.

I'm just waiting to see if Win-Raid can mod a z170 UEFI to support the Core i7 8700k

Sick of buying a motherboard every two generations. I'll be waiting for Zen 2

CB 15 MT score rather low, is it not? 1364 for 4,3GHz? My 6-core BW-E does 1310 at 4,2, so it would probably match it - was there not supposed to be IPC performance increase against Broadwell?

Granted, my 6850 cant go much higher than that, i could not get it stable even 4,3 at 1,3 vcore, which is rather lot, while this one will run at that 4,7 probably no issue, so its no doubt superior.
