Many of the newer PSU use low airflow. Has to do with their efficiency. wink.gif

I'm aware, but I game a lot... so I'm wondering why the PSU isn't getting stressed enough to kick the fan on more often. Seems to be working fine, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it tongue.gif

the more efficient the PSU is the less energy being converted into heat. Less heat and PSU fans that don't even power on until load is above 50% or when temps get good and warm means very little airflow .. means very little dust. wink.gif

Well... I lied about "before" photos. By the time I picked up my daughter, cleaned up the house, and put her to bed it was already 7PM. I decided to do it live and just tear down my old build and re-build in the Pro M instead of setting up a photo shoot (time better spent building I think).

I got everything up and running by 10PM after an hour or so of case cable management when everything was installed. Benched for some temps in the new case and was in bed by 11PM to wake up and do it all again at 5AM. *sigh* anyway, planning on posting some quick pictures of the final build minus the white case LEDs that are on order.

It seems to run a few C cooler than my junky Aerocool GT-RS case with no side panel. Regardless of any temp gains, the case is beautiful and it fits my R1 ULT! I'm really happy with this thing. Was totally worth spending Destiny 2 pre-order refund on!

Thanks again for outlining fan layout and general case discussion on this case.

What are temps / fan speeds at when gaming/stress testing?
My CPU never goes over 56C while stress testing with 3D Mark Time Spy CPU Test and GPUs never go over 65C while running the 3D Mark Time Spy Graphics Tests. Idle of CPU is between 24C and 27C. Idle GPU temps are (top 35C and bottom 29C).

I'll post a benchmark temp/ fan speed graph maybe when I get a chance this weekend.

I'm still trying to figure out why I can't see the Phantecs' fan controller fan speeds in speedfan. I can see the CPU fan speeds and control them, but not case fans... I might try another header to see if that works, or will I not be able to see speeds/ control them because the 3 case fans are running off a single fan hub/ controller?

Only one fan on hub is monitored for speed. Should be one plugged into header #1 .. thick it's white.

My mobo has CPU 1 and CPU Opt. I plugged my CPU cooler fans into CPU 1 and the case fan hub into CPU Opt. My mobo has multiple headers that are PWM, but I don't think i've ever tried controlling anything from CPU Opt. I think I'll have to switch headers.

Are you saying I have to use the CPU 1 fan header or Fan 1 header? Should the CPU fans be plugged into the hub as well? Sorry, I'm not sitting next to my rig ATM so I'm not sure what color the headers/ wires are.

EDIT: I understand what you're saying now, last night I plugged my case fans into Fan 1, 2, and 3 on the hub.

Just out of curiosity, how would you compare the build quality of 400R case to build quality of Phanteks Pro M?

Sorry took me a while to notice. Something wrong with my subs or something with my browser heh.

The quality frame wise is ok and on par with corsair. But there are some things that can't be perfect. The non tg panel on the right is too flimsy/soft for my liking (got used to 400r's tank like heavy @$$ panels, it killed a fingernail on my toe when I dropped it lol mad.gif).

Also had a bit of difficulty mounting my psu as getting thru the cables to go from the psu to the components were a bit hard (have large hands). Wish the shroud was removable or the psu could be installed from the behind.

All in all aside from those 2 gripes everything is good! Aesthetically pleasing and has good air flow. My set up has never been happier. GPU is chill (still rocking a GTX 970 using a modded bios from here) idling at 36-39c depending on time of day (room temps can get to high a of 40c, no AC). CPU is a ryzen 1700x oc'd to 3,8ghz idling 36c-40c and loaded (ibt, prime) 77c.

Strange as it is corsair link and hwinfo read a cpu temp low of -4c so IDK how that was possible but I'm on a NH-d15 cooler with 50% fans all the time and is set to ramp up to 100% if temps go above 60c.

Anyway @op the Enthoo Pro M TG/Acry/Normal is money well spent! biggrin.gif it's just overshadowed by mainstream ones.
