I'm moving the green lantern into a BH8 this week so I'm going back to my original idea for my S8 with a purple/white build. This is going to be an AMD Ryzen 7 build with a gtx1080.
I've been working on cables and sleeving for a while already and only have a few fans and a sata cable left to sleeve. I'm planning to use the new primochill fluid, it's supposed to work with complex loops so I'm excited to try it out, but won't be able to finish the build until they actually launch the fluid.
Here's some sleeving pics for now, I'll get more once I start working on it later this week.
I also picked up one of the new rads from primochill and a set of fittings, got a great deal on the fittings, less than $45 for that set.
I got some hardware/waterblock pics. I still need to finish gutting the case and sand/paint the big rad. I ordered some purple countersunk washers to replace the blue ones one the cpu block. Hopefully I got the sizing right. Also picked up an m.2 heatsink from EK.
I finished the sleeving on the fans and also got the pump sleeved and reservoir assembled. I wanted all white fans for this build and these bitfenix fans were the only option I could find that weren't over $20 each.
Yeah, I almost got those too, but was able to find the bitfenix for less than $9 each and just couldn't pass it up. With this much rad space it really won't matter anyway so may as well save a few bucks.
Just got some new doors for my S8. Now I have all 3 sets
I'm running blitz part 2 through the rads. Getting ready for that vue coolant to be released. I'll probably finish this up while I have a couple days off for thanksgiving, assuming I can get the fluid by then.
I ran the primochill reboot solution through my loop to prep it. They say they won't warranty the vue if you use blitz instead. I was a bit annoyed by that but seeing how much green dye the reboot picked up, I'm glad I got it
Here's the reboot after just 5 minutes. I ran it for about 14 hours, then flushed with a couple gallons of distilled. The vue coolant should be shipping out today so I'll be getting this finished next week.
I ordered a white SMA8 over summer and have not started my build yet but it was going to be purple as well. Can't wait to see where you go with this. I am really torn between purple and red / white / blue. I was thinking about even getting a flag etched into the side panel with and use RGB to highlight the flag. I don't know, one reason why I haven't started yet. Anyway, looks awesome so far and this is really going to make me want to go purple! You even got the white monsoon res I wanted. Man, you must be my more productive twin!

Hey thanks! That etched side panel sounds like a great idea, did you see the updates to the SMA8 they're working on? Tempered glass, new front I/O, light panels!!
When picking the color scheme I decided to do purple/white because red/blue builds are pretty common and I've already done a blue build with aurora/pastel. I try to make my builds as unique as possible and buy from smaller companies like dazmode/monsoon if their stuff works for my build aesthetically. No full EK/swiftech/alphacool etc. builds for me
All the radiators and fans are installed now. Pretty much ready to start bending tubes. Going to wait until Tuesday so I have a full day to work on it and I can take my time.
