Extremely Frustrated... Corsair 570x and XSPC D5 Photon V2 getting it to fit...

Hello everyone,

I am in the middle of a Ryzen 7 build with a ASUS strix 1080 ti OC card.
From my old build I have a 360mm XSPC radiator and I recently purchased the XSPC X4 Photon reservoir pump combo. For now, I was only planning on water cooling the CPU, but I forgot to take into account how long this graphics card is...
I was finally able to get the X4 Photon to fit, but just barely and I had to mount the radiator upside down. I also think that the X4 pump is pretty weak and I am having a hard time getting air out of the loop, plus I think the D5 Photon V2 looks much better so I decided to order it from Performance-PCs. I also bought the aluminum screw pump ring for it so I thought that I would get more clearance.
I received the D5 Photon on Saturday and I just tried to install it tonight. It does not fit at all because the way that the X4 version is shaped it went around the graphics card, which you can see in the pictures, but this one does not do that so it will not fit at all.
I bought the X4 on amazon so I can definitely return it, however, I bought the D5 Photon from Performance-PCs and I guess it looks like they do not take back opened water cooled parts.
Now I do not know what to do. I also would like help with getting a radiator and D5 pump/res combo that will fit. I was thinking about the primochill slim radiators and the CTR phase ii res, but not really sure if this will fit any better.
If I water-cooled the graphics card I think this would help, but I just really didn't want to spend the extra $150 dollars for the block right now.

Thanks for any help..

Pics of the current setup...I know I need to eventually get rigid tubing. The res looks like it is pushing down on the GPU, but it is not.

Well it looks like from the end of the graphics card to the start of the front case fans is 4 inches or 101mm. The primochill eximosx slim rad is 30mm thick and the primochill ctr phase ii outer diameter is 63mm... so if this is true then it looks like it would fit, but I wonder how much radiator mount will add. Looking at pictures it doesn't look like much. I am open to other suggestions as well for a slim radiator and res/pump.

you could mount it horizontally attached to the top somehow
or vertically at the back of the case (although I know asus cards are pretty wide so that might not work)

I could potentially do that but I don't think it'd be what I'd like asteticly and be a pain to fill. If anyone has a ptimochill CTR res attached to the radiator and can measure that would be super helpful or if anyone has ideas for a different skinnier res. I also have the bitspower multi z 150mm res and it looks to be 60mm diameter the same as the ptimochill and would definitely fit with a slim radiator I just can't seem to find a good mounting solution or d5 pump attachment for it

Get a smaller reservoir. 150mm or something.

My issue is not really with the size of this res. The bigger version is still the same diameter it is just longer. I need a radiator, res/pump combo with mount that will take less than 101mm in width.
I think that the primochill CTR phase ii with radiator mount will be ok if I get a slim radiator, but I am not 100% sure the width of the res with the radiator attachments.
I am also open to any other suggested ideas. I wanted it to be attached to the radiator so the connections would be up higher and clear my graphics card so I didn't have to have tube coming from the bottom of the case all the way to the cpu since I do not have a gpu block.
I do already have a bitspower Water Tank Z-multi 150mm v2 res that would work as it is only 60mm if I could find a good D5 pump and attachment that would either let me attach it to the radiator or elevate it enough if attached to the bottom of the case. The 570x has holes on the bottom for a mount but not on the sides or back.

You can use a smaller tube and maybe do it like this pic where the little res is over the gpu.

7800x + 1080ti. EK XTX 360 + Magicool 360.

I had some pump/res problems with my setup also, even with smaller res it was tight. Used similar solution as above.
My front rad is 65mm thick tho.

And why exactly do you need to have the reservoir run down past your GPU?

I'm pretty sure you're stuck on an idea that really isn't the best idea to solve your issue.

Get the DDC pump/res combo, problem solved !!
