The original was used for gaming yes, but it wasn't by intention.

"Preferred by top gamers" was printed on the IE3.0 box.

Legends edition didn't come out in 1999.

And what was the max acceleration of the "MLT04" Intellimouse (this HAD to be 1.1A, NOT 1.0), and the IME 3.0?
What's the max acceleration of this refresh?

I know for a 100% fact that the ORIGINAL Intellimouse 1.0 optical would ALWAYS spin out. I had one. I trashed it. The 1.1A had the updated sensor (MLT04). I do not know if the 1.0 with the much lower max acceleration had this sensor or some previous iteration.

I'm not fully remembering, but I remember that either the Razer Diamondback Plasma/Optical (both the ones with the "sensor skip pixel" bug and the fixed versions, or the original Deathadder ALSO had spinout issues under 16 bit operating systems, as they didn't support (was it 8 bit data path or 16 bit data path? Pinging qxcxv here). They spun out almost at the same speed as the original Intellimouse optical.

The pre-mlt04 intellimice used the Agilent H2000. The dark years.

lol pixel skip bug.

max accel doesn't matter for almost all cases. your hand literally cannot accelerate fast enough
you would spin out on 1.0 most likely because of its low malfunction speed

Gamer's are a niche with a small percentage compared to the market this seems targeted at.  It's odd that MS would push for a wired mouse in today's minimalistic tech climate though.  All MS really needs to do to sell these is through targeted marketing efforts and in-store push.  BUT if we're really lucky and MS actually tuned this to cater to performance users and mice enthusiast then we're all good :)

Not impressed by the Microsoft Classic Intellimouse. Hey Microsoft, why not make a gaming Trackball mouse.. That would be interesting. You already have a jump on Logitech because Logitech refuses to do so.

Wish they came out with a 100% remake of the 1.1. It was my first ever optical mous and my fav mouse overall ever. I don't buy expensive mice tho (sub $50) so I can't compare to top of the line but ever other mouse like my old Xornet or M90 never felt half as good on the whole.

Maybe its just nostalgia but I loved that mouse. Guess I know what I'll be searching for this week now. Good timing as my Xornet is giving me some issues and I was annoyed about the idea of a new mouse. New old should do smile.gif

They are probably aiming at system integrators, big orders of office machines. I don't even expect to see the mouse in regular retail channels certainly not for a while.

It's an office mouse get over it XD

I could for sure hit the 1.5m/s max speed on IE3.0 but it's a matter of getting used to, no spin out.
