Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition Beta for Windows®10 Fall Creators Update Driver Version 17.40 (Windows Driver Store Version 23.20.768.9)
So is this basically focused on supporting the mixed reality headsets? Or is there more to the update. I don't see any improvements listed, just known problems on the AMD site.

Type DXDiag and save it. There it should read wddm 2.2
After you update to Fall Creator Update 1709 (avail. today) and install updated drivers wddm should read 2.3
What's found so far
Scan seems to be working. not working. I had to manually add steam games. But it picked up on Origin stuff.
GPU Workload: Graphics or Compute.
WDDM 2.3 Support
I'm not sure what that is yet. This is what I'm talking about. AMD is notorious for introducing performance and features that are not included in the release notes.
Here you go. Seems to have increased the mining speed, but I still don't have the option to switch from GPU- compute/gaming.
BTW settings are custom. 1000mhz core, 950mv, 1100 and 1050 MHz memory with 950mv. -17% power. Also the AMD control center freaks out when I resize. It gets all artifact like and freezes when I try. But works without a resize. Still no option under global settings for compute.
Edit* settled down and is mining at the same speed as before. ?
Guys check to make sure you have the right version.
I've read that some are experiencing win10 forcing "its version of Crimson"over your fresh install of 17.40.
Mine says BETA from within Crimson's Radeon Software Version in Overview.

I've seen that before and cant find it. Where is that at?
Edit:
I think I've figured it out.
Type Advance System Settings
Tab over to Hardware.
Select Device Installation Settings
Change Yes to No (your device might not work as expected).
Ok that didn't work. After uninstalling main driver then uninstall the device manager amd driver I reboot again.
Now using MS basic device driver
Great
Moments before I was about to reinstall Crimson MS forces 17.7.1 my screen blankets out twice. I couldn't click the mouse button.
