My thoughts also. I am a fan of technology and a fan of competition. I wouldn't think Nvidia would gain a lot from this, but I am far from an expert. It will be interesting to see who else looks at this and does new testings/comparisons.

Curious to see if my 1070 sees any improvement. I'm trying to turn on Game Mode, as I had it off before the FCU, but now the Game Mode page just says "This PC supports Game Mode", no way to turn it on/off. Anyone know a solution?

Any indication as to how NVIDIA cards are affected? If the unintended implication in the title that this update favors AMD is correct, the competitive landscape will start to look quite different.

None of the games tested in the OP were DX12.

He doesn't say in the video or the video description what drivers he is using before and after. AMD has new Beta drivers specifically for this update, so what is actually responsible for what considering that AMD might have taken the opportunity to enable some of the yet disabled features in Vega?

That was my question also. Without better testing, including on Nvidia cards, it's hard to know what to make of this.

You have to turn on the windows dvr stuff so the game bar pops up in game ... because the button to enable it is on the game bar.

Where did he say that? If he used a driver that is not officially supported on the new update he should redo the tests with the new Crimson 17.40 Beta driver both before and after; that is the driver that he should have used in order to obtain reliable results.

What sorcery did Microsoft pull here?
holding back PC to make the Xbox One look better /s

but in serious, actually attempt to optimize gaming performance for once, as gaming is only a niche part of the windows environment

I don't really like his methodology (or lack of) so I can't really trust these results especially without using the correct drivers.
