My thoughts also. I am a fan of technology and a fan of competition. I wouldn't think Nvidia would gain a lot from this, but I am far from an expert. It will be interesting to see who else looks at this and does new testings/comparisons.
The driver.. . My guess is that it's the V shaped rendering technique that only loads stuff that is displayed on the monitor and viewed by user.
Thats my guess. But im right many times.
Curious to see if my 1070 sees any improvement. I'm trying to turn on Game Mode, as I had it off before the FCU, but now the Game Mode page just says "This PC supports Game Mode", no way to turn it on/off. Anyone know a solution?
Any indication as to how NVIDIA cards are affected? If the unintended implication in the title that this update favors AMD is correct, the competitive landscape will start to look quite different.

He doesn't say in the video or the video description what drivers he is using before and after. AMD has new Beta drivers specifically for this update, so what is actually responsible for what considering that AMD might have taken the opportunity to enable some of the yet disabled features in Vega?

People in the Youtube comments are reporting 15-20% FPS gain with AMD as well as Nvidia. That;s easily spending $150 more on a gpu to achieve that.
What sorcery did Microsoft pull here?
Where did he say that? If he used a driver that is not officially supported on the new update he should redo the tests with the new Crimson 17.40 Beta driver both before and after; that is the driver that he should have used in order to obtain reliable results.

So, I'd look for other sources before believing this guy.
