Windows Fall Creator update Mouse effects

Thread Starter
Hopefully this is the right forum for this post but for anyone who updated to the new creators update for the fps gain (actually seems pretty decent so far) Has anyone noticed as soon as it installed and booted up your mouse felt a little odd. Hard to describe, maybe abit faster or floaty? I ran MarkC's mouse fix but didn't seem to change much. All my settings including accel settings are off as before but i can't put my finger on it. Anyone else noticed this?

EDIT: I wonder if it has anything to do with using a 4k second monitor and now when i move my mouse onto that monitor it seems to scale my sensitivity.

SECOND EDIT: I just dropped my select pointer speed down by one because i was just playing around sliding it..... turned it down by 1 to 5/11 and it felt correct again.. what the hell?? isn't 6/11 the 1 to 1?

Nope.

I do have a problem though and that is that whenever I move the mouse around I hear coil whine from my computer. It's never done this before and it started with the Fall Creators update. Thanks Microsoft thumb.gif

I haven't updated Arch in years.

I had the same Problem after upgrading. So i have also set the sensitivity in the Settings from 6/11 to 5/11 and now it is like it was before. Thats weird...

I have 250% scaling on laptop and it suddenly seemed to have an effect on mouse speed as well.

I have it on 125%, and after setting it back to 100% cursor responds as it should be.

Thanks Gonzalez07. My scaling is at 150% (dual 4k Monitors), but i think MS changed something, because before the update, everything was fine, and the cursor setting was at default, because i have set the sensitivity on my mouse's Firmware, so i never need to adjust the Windows setting.

I made a post similar to OPs on Reddit, and after messing with the DPI scaling on my second monitor (4K), the scaling was the cause of the increased speed.

So 200% Display scaling (on a 4k monitor) increased my sensitivity by 200%. I tested it on several machines with 4-5 different top-tier mice (Zowie, Niexues, Logi, SS, Roccat, etc.)

This is actually great. Microsoft is finally tackling the issue of "need 100000 CPI for muh 4K screen" that's completely unintuitive and unnecessary. Hopefully this will reduce one more pseudo-legitimate reason for manufacturers to include excessive CPI ranges.

How is this great?
Now you can't use "screen scaling" anymore if you want to use programs like paint(or the serious graphic editors), and not be affected by messed up mouse input.
Or you are forced to a sceen scale setting which can be corrected by the right win-sens setting, but that's anything but intuitive.
