[Found - g502] Need a Really Large Mouse V2

See previous thread. Some recommendations in the old thread might still be applicable, but for the most part I think most of those mice are disconnected.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1304214/need-a-really-large-mouse-found/0_30

So my current sentinel advance II two has shoddy build quality, the scroll click has been dead for years, and recently the scroll wheel died. I could maybe fix it, but I'm not confident in my ability to take apart the mouse.

To answer the questions from the stickies:

Quote:
1. What's your grip style?

2. What's your sensitivity?

3. What's your maximum budget?

4. Do you want additional buttons?

5. What games do you play?

6. Do you mind about prediction?

7. Other relevant information:
Input anything else you want.
some examples: LOD, ambidextrous shape, weight, wireless, non-braided cord, glossy finish, button activation force, driverless, onboard memory, etc
  1. Palm
  2. Pretty high 2000 and dropping.
  3. Cheaper is better, but I'll do what I must.
  4. Some, yes
  5. Shooters mostly.
  6. Yes
  7. Needs to have a low LOD, be pretty heavy, I want a precision aim button like on the rat, and I prefer braided cables, wired prefered

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I adored my rat 7 back in the day. If it weren't for the sensor issues, I'd never have dumped it. I'm temped by the rat 5 but I don't know if it will have some of the same issues (movement on click, and cursor moved around with moderate bass from music; games). It would feel weird to go full circle in mice, especially to one with less features, especially ones I used (pinkie rest and thumb length adjuster.)

Size is less important now as it once was.

The things that are essential:

  1. At least two customization dpi settings (2000 and 800 are my go-tos)
  2. A sniper or programmable thumb button that can lower the dpi by a percentage or two a set value while held. It needs to be at the end of the thumb like on the rat, and not up high like a back button.

Yeah. The Logitech G502 sounds exactly like what he wants.

Why do you prefer trash tho? G502 is not that big but fulfills these. Otherwise I'd go with Roccat Kone EMP.

Thanks y'all. G502 looks really good. Looks like it has pretty much everything I want save maybe size. Decent price too. I've also had really good experiences with logitech mice, they are well built and I doubt the buttons will fail in a year.

What is the difference between the spectrum and core model? Not that I'd spend the extra, just curious.

Oh? What makes those specs trash? Just because it's not what you want in a mouse? Shall we all wield 2 inch wireless logi mice without overhanging buttons? ;)

The EMP/XTD are considerably smaller than what I've got, which is too small. If I'm gonna get a smaller mouse, might as well go all the way and change my grip and get a cheaper one that is closer to my important specs. But thank you for the recommendation. According to the specs the G502 is slightly longer than the EMP as well.

Acoording to the specs it's longer, but it feels way smaller in the hand because of the shape of the shell. Could also try G402.

No one in his/her right mind wants 2 inch wireless mice but whatever. Heavy mice suck, the heavier the mouse the more strain you put on your wrist, the earlier your joints will start going kaput. Braided cables don't worth a thing as they decrease flexibility and increase friction, just get a bungee or tape your cable at the edge of the table so it won't get sliced up.
I'm not flaming, I'm trying to help, and I know my style is raw.

Func MS-2 is very large with extra buttons. Hard to find though.

Hi all. Thanks for all the suggestions. I ended up with the g502 and I am very happy. It fits my hand better than expected, and seems pretty well built. I also got a much larger mouse pad, and I've been trying to lower my sensitivity I normally play at.

Vanir, I haven't put any weights in and probably will not. I am liking the lightness a bit. Also, I went with a cloth mousepad instead of a plastic one, so hopefully that should give me more consistant friction.
