Async Compute can be switched on and off with Nvidia

Wolfenstein 2 uses Async Compute as standard. On a Pascal graphic card from Nvidia, this can also be switched on and off in the menu. On an accelerator of the Maxwell generation, however, the possibility is not offered as on an AMD graphics card. It is to be expected that the game Async Compute on Maxwell consistently deactivated, but on Radeon graphics cards consistently uses.

Looks like you beat me in making the threat hehe. Anyway you forgot to include Scene 2 of their benchmark so here it is.

well that's literally worst case scenario and amd hasnt enabled async compute yet(so we can expect that VEGA that beats 1080/1080 Ti) also Fury is underperforming so we can expect dev optimization for GCN3 or older GPUs

Reminds me of "Nvidia hasn't enabled Async yet" from a year ago biggrin.gif

What kind of extra optimization are you expecting and where did you get information that it's even coming? This game was flagship AMD/Vega game from the start, they had all the time to optimize for AMD. There is even game ready driver released by AMD.

how the heck is a 970 so much slower than a 1060???

They have async compute.

On a Pascal graphics card, the low-level feature should also remain enabled. With Async Compute, the GeForce GTX 1080 in the test sequence renders three percent faster than synchronous execution of the Graphics and Compute calculations.
this proabably means AMD hasnt worked to enabled because they are waiting to release the driver tommorrow with the tweak for Async compute

As sugarhell pointed out, it is always enabled on AMD cards. It doesn't make sense that ID would put the time to enable on Nvidia cards and not on AMD cards.

Glottis, I think you should have put the forgot in quotations because pontiacGTX definitely didn't forget...
