What is with the 970 fall off from the 1060?

nVidia needs a new driver asap.

Could be VRAM related, that would explain both the 970 and Fury X results.

Looks like this game is also using HBCC and Rapid Packed Math. Nice! Because this is the first game that uses RPM that may explain why performance hasn't fully matured yet.

I'd give it time. Another driver release should be on the way.

Considering that this is pretty much AMD's flagship game for the Vega series, you'd expect that they'd have fully operational drivers at release. Personally I wouldn't expect huge gains on the AMD side.

More benchmarks

Pretty safe to say that SLI doesn't work in this game based on those benchmarks. The 1080 and 1080SLI scores are exactly the same. I don't know why they bothered to include SLI when it's obviously only running on one card.

It seems Vega is incapable of scraping a clean win over the 1080. This is the third game (Forza 7, Destiny 2 being the two others) so far where it beats the 1080 at times, but then falls back to 1070 level under other circumstances. I don't know why AMD didn't design a card that performs well 100% of the time; Vega seems to do so about 50% of the time. I've never seen a card with such wildly inconsistent performance before, nor a card that's lacked AIB partner designs for this long.

According to the benchmarks posted in this thread, vega is clearly beating the 1080.

Not in scene 2, whatever that is.

So there's two benchmarks? I'm not sure what "scene 2" is.
