Now you know how AMD users feel about every other title that gets released...

Indeed... There was definitely something wrong with the Fury performance prior to the patches. I wonder if they changed something. Is Fury such an oddball that it performs worse than GCN 2 and GCN 4? I do remember GCN 3 having worse double precision FP performance compared to GCN 2... Maybe that's at play here?

Besides a couple games like project cars, AMD cards generally do pretty good in gameworks games, even upon launch. Some of AMD's strongest titles like the Division are gameworks titles. A game can use gameworks and not cripple AMD hardware, particularly when most of those features can get turned off.

Mordor shadow of war and Destiny 2 both perform very good on AMD hardware and perform better than the gtx 1080.

Unless the game forces PhysX to run on the CPU when their isn't a Nvidia card present, most games are pretty well balanced.

Why is the vega 56 beating the gtx 1080? Maybe I should have a snaged a vega 56 cause its cheaper than the gtx 1080 or even vega 64 now they are as low as 470

Vega 56 can be as fast as a 64 if you are comfortable with flashing the bios, modding the registry, and consuming 500+ watts at the wall.

ehhh I'll pass. I guess I paid a premium for a 3 fan design and the 2 free games. But looking back I'm always going to wonder if I should have grabbed a vega 64 instead

at correct clock speed VEGA 64 is noticeably faster than 1080. and here is above 1080Ti

I stand by my statement. Doesn't matter if AMD does 'pretty good' in pro-nVidia titles, since the vice versa is also true. No one can actually argue that nVidia is performing badly in this game. And yet, still arguments of lack of optimization were presented, and that nVidia was only allowed to optimize after the game was launched. AMD are a lot more often in the position of being able to optimize only after the fact, meaning early benchmarks inevitably favor nVidia. And there are a lot more games that favor nVidia.

And to see someone complain about this for nVidia and at the same time bashes AMD while AMD is in the situation more often, well... Let's just say I find that extremely hypocritical.

it should be a problem with the early patch since some other cards like 980Ti also didnt have good performance but still shows that something was off/out of place from release
