I think Vega is the weirdest GPU ever released.

Very inconsistent performance. Same can be observed in the Wolfenstein benchmarks.

OC for OC, especally at 1440p+ 290x takes it. I've considered the sidegrade to a 480/580 (for 8gb vram and little cost difference after sale) but at 4k it's not worth it.

What I observed in the Wolfenstein ][ benchmarks was exceptionally consistent performance based on the internal structure of the card and the coding used.

Irregardless of Nvidia, Vega's performance in the said titles is very inconsistent from a global perspective. Especially considering the fact that it is a new architecture.

About the last thing I care about are day 1 benchmarks. There are always patches, bios's, etc...that change these in a rather expedient fashion. I guess I'm supposed to be ecstatic that my 1060 is doing so well vs vega, but I know that will change. I also know one more important factor to me is that I won't pay launch prices, specially not for a game that has a history or poor launches. So in turn I wait for bugs to be ironed out, prices to fall, and both vendors to tweak their hardware. Day 1 benchmarks??? Irrelevant for the most part.
