Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.11.1 Highlights

Support For

Call of Duty: WWII
  • Up to 5% faster performance on Radeon RX Vega64 (8GB) graphics than with Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition 17.10.3 at 2560x1440. (1) AMD XConnect Technology
  • Now supported on Radeon RX Vega56 series graphics products for select eGPU enclosures.

Fixed Issues

  • Radeon Software may intermittently cause an application crash on limited numbers of DirectX11 or OpenGL applications on their first run.
  • Some gaming or productivity applications may experience a random hang or application crash when performing task switching.
  • Radeon WattMan reset and restore factory default options may not reset graphics or memory clocks.
  • Oculus Dash may experience a random application hang.
  • Bezel compensation in mixed mode Eyefinity cannot be applied.
  • Radeon Settings may experience overlapping text or corruption in the Multi GPU profiles page.
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands may experience minor corruption with Anisotropic Filtering (AF) enabled.
  • Middle-earth: Shadow of War™ may experience ghosting or distortion in gameplay on Multi GPU enabled system configurations.
  • AMD XConnect Technology products may not be detected/enabled on reconnection if previously disconnected during system sleep
  • A limited number of system devices such as printers may be removed during Radeon Software uninstallation.

Known Issues
  • Some desktop productivity apps may experience latency when dragging or moving windows.
  • Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege may experience an application hang when breaching walls with grenades or explosives.
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider may experience an intermittent application hang during gameplay.
  • A random system hang may be experienced after extended periods of use on system configurations using 12 GPU’s for compute workloads.
  • The GPU Workload feature may cause a system hang when switching to Compute while AMD CrossFire is enabled. A workaround is to disable AMD CrossFire before switching the toggle to Compute workloads.
  • Resizing the Radeon Settings window may cause the user interface to stutter or exhibit corruption temporarily.
  • Unstable Radeon WattMan profiles may not be restored to default after a system hang.
  • OverWatch™ may experience a random or intermittent hang on some system configurations. Disabling Radeon ReLive as a temporary workaround may resolve the issue.
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Footnotes

Testing conducted by AMD Performance Labs as of November 1st, 2017 on the 8GB Radeon RX Vega64, on a test system comprising of Intel i7 7700X CPU (4.2 GHz), 16GB DDR4-3000 Mhz system memory, and Windows 10 x64 using the game Call of Duty®: WWII on the highest game presets. PC manufacturers may vary configurations, yielding different results.
  • At 2560x1440, the Radeon RX Vega64 scored 120.6 FPS with Radeon Software 17.10.3 whereas the Radeon RX Vega64 scored 129.6 FPS with Radeon Software 17.11.1. Performance may vary based on use of latest drivers.(1)

Yay, they fixed the oddity of the driver uninstalling things and DX11 games going unstable. This is awesome! They're on their game. It's been less than a week too.

Using Win 8.1 the Radeon Control Centre keeps telling me there are no updates for my system and the latest driver version is 17.7.1. I've downloaded both the Win Spy and Win Superior (7) versions and will test the 7 version first to see which one is the better one for my system.

Doesn't surprise me, not that many people use 8.x. I will try both the 7 and Spy drivers as I prefer 8.1 over 7.

Is the combo R9 390 + Afterburner + Wattman still bugged?

Can't OC my GF's card because the moment I go up for a single +1 in Core Clock or Memory Clock, every game sees a drastic drop in fps frown.gif

I'm starting to thing that the OW bug is not drivers problem but the game's. I have been reading around the web about the issue and there are multiple people complaining from both camps, but it is majority from AMD side.

Yup, going all the way back to early this year as "not working" in a sticky thread on their forum.
This to me tells me their game isn't working like it use to with AMD drivers. If you read AMD's driver notes they tell users to not use Relive. Relive? What does that have to do with an alleged driver problem?
I say this because it appears AMD driver team communicated with developers of OW and that was the outcome in their driver notes.

To me, this is just my opinion, OW anti-cheat app is targeting something on AMD drivers. It might be Relive or it might be something that shares with Relive and AMD drivers. I can't say.
There is no other game that has had a problem like that since (what?) January 2017 (as people were complaining well before it became well known). Here it is November 2017 and its still not fixed? That's a HUGE RED FLAG that AMD is NOT the problem here! If it was something that AMD needed to fix by now, LOL.
Here is an excerpt of that ctd back in January 2017:
Quote:

So looking at the crashes, it's likely one of two causes here:

First is actually going to be XAudio which we have a post for over here. Give that a shot first. =)

The second is in the crash it did show that NVidia's screen capture software might have been causing some issues, so to test let's try just uninstalling Geforce Experience and see if that helps.
Shadow Play is what they blame is causing the problem. Is recording while in game shunned upon?

It's been common knowledge for years to black list any dll, etc hooking apps like shadowplay, Relive, etc. to prevent people from cheating.

Another thing that you should consider. I've played games in my time where there were either no profile for the game or the profile isn't working like it should. It never "ALWAYS" resulted in being CTD. You can get a whole lot of other things but CTD isn't a consistent thing you get.
When you always get a CTD, as in this case, most time it's the game contributing to the problem in one form or another. IE: memory leak, etc.

Edit:
It goes back further then January 2017
Lets try November 2017 almost 1 year ago.
