Upgrade recommendations

I have an rma ticket that will expire at the end of month.
I have to use it and I need your help in recommending me what part of my pc I should upgrade.

You can see my pc here :
http://www.overclock.net/lists/display/view/id/6792884

The main use of the pc is gaming and I am thinking these two options

a) get some 16gb 3200Mhz RAM (I now have 16gb 2133Mhz)

b) get a 1TB SSD for my Os and games (I now have the Os in the 120gb Evo and the games on the 1TB WD Caviar Blue)

Which one do you think that is the best choice ?
Do you believe that I may upgrade something else ?

Thank you in advance.

ps : I know that I can try to sell the ticket or get some hardware and sell it and I am evaluating even this option.
for the needs of this thread however please only propose me possible upgrades for my system.

What resolution do you game? I didnt see a monitor in your rig.

Neither of those makes much sense to me. Faster RAM boosts your FPS slightly. You can just overclock your current RAM and achieve similar results. The 1TB SSD makes more sense, but it won't improve gaming performance.

Correct!
That's the reason I opened the thread.
The fastest RAM will give me a boost of 2%(and not in all games).
The only place in the internet I found with significant gains in some games with faster ram is this :
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/gaming-benchmarks-ddr4-2133-mhz-vs-ddr4-3000-mhz-core-i7-6700k.231776/
But I doubt cause every other source is talking about marginal differences.

The SSD is a better all around upgrade, but in terms of gaming I will only get faster loading times and not better framerate.

You won't even get faster loading times.

An M.2 NVME SSD wont give you faster load times if you are thinking of getting one of those
Outside of synthetic benchmarks and a few other areas such as using Linux they are in no way faster then an old SATA III AHCI SSD

I have my games installed on a WD Caviar blue(HDD).
So I guess that an SSD will give me faster loading times.
I don't know if it can offer a smoother gaming experience also(ex. less stuttering),
but probably this can be the case only in few games with maybe large maps or areas cause once the game loaded the disk is going out of the equation.

As about the RAM, I wonder what speeds I can achieve by o/cing my 2133 modules ?
Can I o/c only the RAM, without altering cpu speed or vcore ?
I will appreciate a usefull link/guide.

Hi,
Personally I would look into a samsung 850 pro about 256gb for the os and programs plenty of room to grow,
Get a western digital black 7200rpm for games 1-2 tb and I believe you'll be better off although there are some better high rpm hdd's too black is just what I use.
Seagate barracuda is also a good one too what ever tb you can afford 1-2tb.

3200 memory should be fine Trident z/ Corsair dominator....

Hard drives are all fast enough these days that it doesn't matter what you use for gaming. No SSD on the market will give you a difference in gaming.

RAM is RAM. Don't concern yourself with brand names and worry more about frequency, timings, and possibly the heat spreader. RAM is the worst place to spend extra money when seeking performance. As for overclocking RAM, I believe it's as easy as increasing the multiplier and loosening the timings.

Your rig is pretty top notch. I find it difficult trying to find a worthwhile upgrade. What sort of speakers are you rocking? Whatever came with the t.v.? Maybe get a temper-glass case? Purely looks though.

The only thing i see thats worth upgrading is the SSD so you can have games on that instead of an old slow HDD
Samsung is on the way with a new 860 series which should be a little bit faster as well as cheaper then the older 850 series

Lots of tech sites had news about it a while back so while Samsung has not come out and said it there is an 860 series on the way
Samsung has also dropped the Evo and Pro names so what they are call them now i dont know

Hi,
Okay thanks

On another note not sure if the op is in waiting mode

But Amazon has the 850 pro's @ 125.us for 256gb heck I got 2 they are better than the 850 evo's which I have 2 of those 500gb and I believe 1-250gb
I'll just load some games on the 500gb ones see how that works out opposed to using 7200rpm wd hdd.
