08.11.2017 Taipei, Taiwan – After first announcing the Taku in Computex 2016, PC Cooling and peripherals innovator CRYORIG is releasing the Taku PC monitor stand ITX case. The Taku has been in development for over 2 Years in house, with over 1 year of co-development with manufacturing partner Lian Li. The Taku is finally releasing after a brief appearance on Kickstart during the Summer. Although unsuccessful as a Kickstarter project the Taku gained enough popularity and initial backers for CRYORIG to continue developing the Taku and push for a product launch. The Taku will first be released in the USA, Japan and Taiwan beginning in December. All original Kickstarter backers will be given the option to pre-order and are guaranteed to receive a unit before the end of December including a free CRYORIG C7.

The Taku is a hybrid between a PC Monitor Stand and a high-end ITX form factor PC case. The benefit of this design is that the monitor, keyboard and the full PC system is arranged vertically on top of each other. Meaning the total footprint is lowered, and valuable desk space is made available. The Taku is compatible with GPU’s up to 280 mm, ITX form factor mainboards, SFX or SFX-L power supplies, fully capable of housing a high-end Gaming PC. Taku’s storage space is also well taken care of. The Taku can also fit 1x 3.5” HDD, two 2.5” SSD/HDD.

As I said back when we 1st saw these.....they killed the slim design by having massive (by comparison) feet. Think the price is too high as well, but that's just me.

Without those feet it would be useless as a monitor stand and you wouldn't be able to slide your keyboard under it either. And i bet those wooden feet are easily removable and can be replaced with some rubber adhesive pads.

I do agree that price is a tad high tho.

300$? Hmmm...i cant say it's attractive enough to get at that price. 200$ I might consider it for the aesthetic to match my desk but at 300 no way.

Looks nice, seems nice, too pricey

Externals are the way to go TBH. No incentive to make room for such a rarely used feature in an SFF case when external drives are commonplace. External drives are also often cheaper than internal slim drives.

My DVD drive died and I would've liked to put a blu ray drive in my NCASE, but I can't find any for a reasonable price (if at all) so I have given up. Even slot loaded DVD drives are hard to find. I will probably never replace the old DVD drive, I'll just use the ODD mount for an extra HDD/SSD.

I could see myself owning this, but like others have said, price is too high, way too high actually. That retracting design is a cool idea. It needs to have the option to remove the feet and mount it vertically. Just as an option.

I think $100 is reasonable. $200 is a stretch. $300 is a bit crazy.

Dat price though...

If the build quality was amazing, I'd entertain $200. But 300, with barely any features? Naw man.
When these were previewed earlier this Summer they were a clear winner in the ~$150 and below category. As soon as the $300 MSRP was announced it was just laughs from there.
