anxiously waiting for my chip on Monday lol. hoping to be a happy buyer. I heard the setting such as vcore and clock can be quit conservative from Silicon Lottery meaning can get it clocked higher or use less vcore for said clocks. I keep my fingers crossed

They bin at voltages, not speeds. So like 1.45v for 5.0Ghz, is it stable? Yes. Move on to 5.1Ghz. Is it stable? No. Its a 5.0Ghz @ 1.45 chip. YMMV when you try to lower the voltage.

nice looks like you have a good chip too. Mine is claimed to do 5ghz at 1.424

so i have been testing since monday now and i have seemed to lock in my overclock.

originally silicon lottery specs say 5ghz at 1.425v -2 avx

i have it stable at 5ghz 1.312v 0 ovx offset using offset voltage

I have ran 1 hour of IBT, 3 hours of prime95, 3 hours of OCCT and 20+ runs of cinebench, zero issues

its seems they must possibly under estimate what they have based on worst results based on motherboard and max ram frequency and list that.

I am using the z170 oc formula and only 2400mhz ram, so maybe that is why i can get better vcore because of a higher quality motherboard and lower frequency ram. but so far i am a happy camper.

I'll repeat here for others my reply to your email:

There are two factors at play here.

1) You have arguably the best Skylake/Kaby Lake motherboard that exists, and 2) We have to leave a bit of headroom in to guarantee stability.

Enjoy your CPU!
