Optane has a secret buffer that records metadata on everything that has been in memory, and discretely sends it off to our Overlords wink.gif

Hey, we have a secret CPU installed in all of our Intel and AMD chips - that seriously does make me a little paranoid sometimes.

Valid observation, Cynical. And, no, I'm not scared Particle. SSDs have made it a little easier to do a quick zero when it comes to data storage. I feel like Optane could actually be a product designed with that very evolution in mind. Since SSDs can quickly be zapped, having a recent activity stored elsewhere would be a smart move. That's all I was saying. Again, though, I haven't delved too deep into Optane to understand it completely.

I'm glad this will be coming out around the time I imagine I'll be willing to upgrade my cpu/mb/mem. lol

there is nothing secret about MEI and Minix or whatever. And you can disable it.

So will this be a race between optane and ddr5?
