Hi,

More confusion -

Just compiling some drivers for Intel USB 3.0, Intel USB 3.1 and the thunderbolt drivers.

Confusion has arisen from USB 3.1 FW update tool utility - and I'm trying to differentiate between the driver and FW update tool "firmware" - This is pertaining a Gigabyte X99 Ultra Gaming board but it is Intel technology we're talking about isn't it?

Would there be a separate Intel USB 3.1 FW update? - that is different to thunderbolt driver & Intel USB 3.1 driver?

Sometimes it can get iffy when some driver is left off a manufacturers website -

- Just a touch of advice please as I'm just trying to get some drivers together so when I do build this machine i'm covered -

PS - there can be a FW update included within thunderbolt driver install but this USB 3.1 FW update has thrown me slightly

It could be possible that the Intel USB 3.1 driver on the website is the FW update tool but it does not state this OR

FW update for USB 3.1 is contained within the thunderbolt driver ??? or

There is an Intel (presumably) USB 3.1 FW update that is not on the website - Someone who has used Gigabyte X99 Ultra Gaming may know about this

WAhat do you think? - Any useful comments please -

The Gigabyte thunderbolt card needs a firmware update which is online - But still some confusion as to whether a FW update is needed for USB 3.1 (presumably Intel) or whether it's just a USB 3.1 driver (Intel).

Is USB 3.1 usually available with a FW update?
