No worries,

For the curious, the Res is an EK X4 250 v1, that has had a new piece of 80mm Boro-silicate glass fitted to allow installation in the S8S. Even though the V1 gasket / cap fitting is quite tricky, it does allow for different Glass lengths, where as the newer V2 ones have a stainless-steel threaded rod through the centre that prevents this.

This then feeds into a EK Dual D5 pump top (the "Old" style one) that still has probably the best performance yet of any D5 top.

Loop is Res - Pumps - SR-2 360 - XT45 280 X-flow - CPU block - EK 1080Ti block - Res. Yet to be added - custom water blocks for the 2 VRM sections of the ASrock X399 board as well as blocks on the 3 M.2 SSDs.

Even with the Pump RPM from the Aquaero 6LT set around 45% (approx. 2100rpm ~ D5 Vario 2 setting?), the Aquacomputer Flow sensor (seen in the photos coming from the XT 280 rad) is indicating around 170lt/hr!

Cheers,

45% and getting 170lph is good. For the non-metric, that is 0.75 gpm.

I've always preferred the look of the S8S and pedestal. I realize that is the more expensive option, so I want to get that out of the way wink.gif. I wish I could find a picture, but It reminds me of the old MH10 + Pedestal (those were the days smile.gif ) and looked really bad ass back then - even more than the TH10.

I almost mentioned the S8S and pedestal myself, but didn't because of the price difference over the S8. I like the look of it, too. I think a S8S with a pedestal installed on the top and bottom could be pretty fun and unique.

I'm a fan of the s8s.

Currently rock the forgotten m8 but still love the case.

If I had the option I would do the s8s with top window and pedestal. Similar size to m8 with top down looks

This to me completely depends on if you want the top window or top-mounted rads. The huge gap down from a top window the the MB on a S8 seems a waste to me - if you want that then definitely S8S and a ped. If you need rad space in the case the S8 all the way. Just remember that with your case under the desk, the power button and the USB/audio jacks (if you use them) will seem to be almost on the floor exclamation.gif

That is true ... if you leave them where CL has them placed.

Thanks for your input.

Honestly, the placement and look of the S5 switches etc over the S8 is what decided my first CL case for me. The look of the switch panel on the S8 has always just irked me wth.gif

Seems like everyone agrees the S8S looks better.

After nearly 3 years of owning an S8, I still sometimes glance over at it, and think "hmm, it looks just a tad too tall."

But the extra space, front window, and versatility are more important to me than the better symmetry of the S8S.

It works out well that you've got enough clearance under the desk for an S8 and pedestal.
To add to the switch placement discussion, with a ped, the switch height will be somewhat better.

Not that a little modding couldn't be done, to move it where you wish.
