And to be fair, that was the Veyron Super Sport, which at 30 units produced is hardly a production car, and the actual production version was only capable of 258mph.

The only other 250mph+ production car with an official top speed is the original Veyron at 253mph, which is probably within reach.

Apart from Germany and maybe France, I can't see any country in Europe having road system allowing even over 60 mph / 96 kmh.
I would be afraid to be around truck going this fast.

Canadian here. Most of the highways where I live are 110kph, and a decent portion of drivers (including semi drivers) will do at least 10kph over the posted limit. Can't remember who, but there's a Canadian comedian who likes to joke about how he was driving on highway 2 (aka the QE2 in Alberta), doing twenty over and a combine went flying past him.. Basically as a way of commenting about just how lead footed a lot of drivers can be.

We also won't comment about just how many speeders there in the Edmonton to Ft. McMurray corridor, and the speeds they do (usually 140+ kph, cops are pulling people over all the time, and an alarming number of people die on that highway every year).

283mph now, and i already explained why I think these kind of cars are hardly a valid comparison, as they're not really production cars.

There are only a measly 25 handmade RS's made, its hardly a production car, especially compared to the thousands of roadsters that are likely to be made.

Production car is 25 or more being made. There is a reason why Koenigsegg made 25 of them instead of their usual 2-15 cars per model.

this, even Bugatti's Veyron 16.4 SS WRE is classified as a production car, despite there only being 30 of them.

Tesla hasn't made any claims about battery technology changes, so it's fairly safe to assume there haven't been any.

I think it will be using those new 2170 cells.

Actual high speed production cars are along the lines of E Class 63 S, RS 7, and Alpina B6. Then again, none of those cars really touch the Roadster's price.A more apt comparison would be the Lambo Huracan and Ferrari 488, both of which are between 200-300k, and neither of which touches the Roadster's claimed performance.

This Roadster really is a supercar killer in terms of performance. In terms of luxury? Well I think the infotainment on the Tesla will be a lot better at least.

I guess it's better than an F1 car too because its quicker 0-60?
