At night when my room is silent there's been a really annoying screeching noise, and I finally narrowed it down to my new EC2-B. When I put my ear around the sensor I can hear it clearly. Don't notice it during the day. When I move my cursor the whine stops for a couple seconds then returns.
Pretty sure my EC2-A and many other mice didn't have this. I made a post on Reddit and another user has reported the same problem too, and was suggested to post here.
Really though, that is weird as heck. I haven't noticed it with my ec2-b thus far.
Edit: So i cut everything off in my room just to see if i could hear what you posted about. Sure enough i heard it. I thought to myself "no way". Pick up the mouse and place my ear by the sensor, & hear the exact same annoying sound coming from the mouse. You aren't the only one.
Not an exclusive feature, SteelSeries already had it before Zowie. I wish my Sensei 310 would shut up, because it is really annoying in a quiet environment.
I hear it at any polling rate and dpi. Seems like all EC-B mice are affected, which sucks since this was becoming my favorite mouse. Not sure if I should even bother with an RMA.

Wow.... this is bad news this mouse was a long time coming to have this issue. Have you guys contacted Zowie yet about the issue if anything to at least let them start being aware of the issue. With so many having the issue it can't be too isolated. I am going to link this thread to the original thread for the mouse.
I have been thinking about getting this mouse, especially since the CS:GO edition was revealed. How loud is it? Does it make the noise 24/7? Should I get a different mouse because of this?
EDIT: After reading more replies, is it true that the sound stops once you unplug it?

It would have to stop after you unplug it considering there would be no electricity going to the device to cause the noise.
Unplugging the mouse when not in use is not a fix for this, it is a work around for a hardware issue. Zowie needs to look into this, I will try and contact them maybe push them to look at this thread if possible

Just got mine from amazon, it has the noise as well. It's not too noticeable but when you put your ear near the sensor there is definitely a sound coming out of it.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
