Hey guys, I have a bitfenix alchemy 2.0 magnetic white led strip in my rig right now and I'm going to be getting another case and mobo. The mother board will have the "aura" RGB header. My question is, will I have a conflict using a non RGB strip with that header ? All I want is white and the ability to turn on and off the light via Asus software.
I don't see why it wouldn't work, but Id rather avoid a potential hassle.
It will work all right. regular RGB and non-rgb strips require 1 power line 12V and then each signal (R, G, B, W) wire is actually just a ground wire that is being modulated with PWM (very fast turned on and off) to achieve "brightness control".
You just need to pick the 12V cable and then select one of the R/G/B channels and connect your white led strip ground to it.

Yeah I contacted bitfenix and asked them and they said it wouldnt work, then I called Asus and they said it would. 12v header and my light operates at 12v too and the RGB splitter cable that comes with the new motherboard should do the trick.
Thanks for the reply !
