Wow that is a great looking stealthy build! I especially like what you did in painting the hard tubes black, and the lighting effect is perfect. Well done!

I swear you built the rig i have been imagining.. Its f-in beautiful. I just wish i could afford the sma8.....Im trying to see if i can get the TT wp100 or V3000, or 900d, as a compromise. But absolutely stunning. Werent you scared drilling into the mobo panel? A mistake and your screwed right?

Sure. I've made this mistake before and it's all you think about when Plan B is sitting on the desk next to you. Also, they just released the SMA8-A soooo...
I have not posted for a while. (I was last active 1.5 years ago when I built and X99 system in a Caselabs Mercury S5). But looking through this build log... I just have to comment. You have done a wonderful job... at least in my eyes.
Highlights for me:
You have avoided RGB bling bling. I love the stealthy gunmetal and black theme, You've carefully chosen neutral / stealthy components like black fans, black fittings, black water blocks. You've even gone the distance to black out your hard line tubes. Not sure I would have done that, but regardless it works and fits with your theme.
You have really intelligent decisions about loop routing paths. It really is the cleanest and most logical routing path for the SMA8
You have also clearly thought very carefully and intelligently about loop fill and loop dump. It should be very easy maintenance.
You've also done a good job to keep competing branding to a minimum,... component choice, stealthing the fans and changing the bridge from EVGA to Asus.
Excellent workmanship, especially because - like me - you were doing casemods using handtools. Doing things so accurately and without making a mess of the case is not easy, Lots of masking tape, measure, test fit, measure, measure again, cut, check, fit, repeat.
In fact I periodically consider upgrading my system to an ATX / EATX build. (Mostly because I have the itch to do another system!) I've wanted to use the SMA8 and this is very, very close to my vision. In fact the tube runs would be exactly the same. Just my component choices would be somewhat different in places.
You have clearly spent a TON of money on this. Given that why not go for 1080Ti or Titan Xp over the 1080? (Or did you buy components before these were released)
I would have been tempted to use the X99-E WS 10G and a Xeon multicore with EEC memory (similar to Rick's build from RPC, also in Taiwan). Again... given the budget and all.
Is there a reason you went X99 rather than X299 given that you are building this in late 2017?
I probably would have used Noctua fans rather than Corsair. But then you would need to do something about the poop brown colour scheme I guess, Or Black Noiseblockers instead.
I think you used EK rads...? I would have used Hardware Labs GTR or GTS
These are not criticism. Just a few random thoughts, because clearly there are personal preferences that come into it. Brilliant build. Well done and congratulations. I bet it performs amazingly well. +1 rep.

I was built in December 2016 and is buy components before these were released
Thank you very much for your thoughts
I will have a new concept next time.
Bro I was in the same boat. You got only 3 other options for a case this size, or with a basement. The Sma8 is king. But be ready to spend a assload of money as you are aware. The other options, 900D, thermaltake wp, or the lian li v3000. I just bought the V3000 couple days ago, and I love it. Its half the price too.
Oh Op, I am slightly mimic'ng your build. Slightly. At least the color scheme. I saw your build online 3 weeks ago, and have been searching for a build log since. I loveeeee the way it looks.
