Well, this here Toyota gets you from A to B just like your shiny red car but for a fraction of the price. It even comes with cupholders and a place to put your phone. Anyone who buys a Ferrari is dumb

It's the same with Titans. Either you get it, or you don't. Now please, kindly shut up.

Some ppl dont realised this is an enthusiast forum... haha. It was never about price performance when u simply want the best, because you can.

Okay you cant exactly compare a ferrari to a gpu lol. Ferrari somewhat retain their value over time and while there is depreciation it doesn't go to worth nothing in 5 years like a piece of pc tech. I think there is the enthusiast aspect then there is the common sense aspect. Not many v100 tesla card owner's here running firestrike is there? 3k for this gpu is pretty much the boarder of common sense atm. At least this card won't tank on resale which is good news.
The card would actually suit my needs quite a bit and the price given what it's primarily intended for is certainly acceptable. Its introduction has also been quite interesting in terms of group interactions.

Gaming performance, if it truly pans out, is just an added benefit (if that's your thing).

That said, I've got both the time and the patience to see what 2018 brings, especially after PCIe 4 motherboards are released.

No need to justify it to me, buddy. I tell myself the exact same thing a lot of the time...

Not sure what's more stupid, though lol. You just went code red defensive biggrin.gif

This card will have way better resales value than others Titan thanks to its compute and Tensor cores.

It might be another 2 years before we see another GPU with compute that overtake this. (Not talking about just performance)

Titan Z was basically dual Titan Blacks on a single PCB and had 1/3 rate FP64 (instead of the 1/24 FP64 that the 780Ti provided), so its true purpose was to have the absolute highest amount of double-precision computing power available in a single card. Admittedly NVIDIA's marketing of it at the time was less unambiguous regarding gaming than what they're saying about the current Titan V, but I think this time they've nailed down their messaging quite well.

Let's be serious for a moment, Vega. I'm 3,000 better off than you and I can still play all the games I've been playing up until now. These things swing both ways, and yes, I'm sure there a few people who are a bit green (no pun), but you can't beat around the bush. In this case, it's a largely inflated bush

EDIT: Changed the term of phrase
