But see this is what I don't agree with, just because there is a set of armour for each class and a few weapons available in the raid, it's not fine for the majority of other unlockables to be hidden behind a brokenly slow (with incredibly high duplicate rates, in fact I've had several of the same items drop within the same few minutes while handing in engrams) token system, or be available in lootboxes because again, they aren't available as drops from specific areas/ bosses like any other MMO.
In fact I don't think it works to compare it to other MMO's, because they had systems in place for you to target the gear and drops you wanted and focus on obtaining them, D2 doesn't, it's all a random loot pinata which is stacked against the player.
I honestly have no problem with loot boxes in games, but when you're given the choice to obtain gear naturally but at a handicap vs getting the lootboxes then it's not a game design I believe is right, because it encourages people to take the easy way after losing any expectation of making progress otherwise.
And I don't even think you can obtain the exotic weapon skins outside of buying the lootboxes which is another disappointment. Although I could be wrong on that one.
